We're Here

We arrived in Branson yesterday, Monday the 24th. Weather is great and we've done some shopping today. The VF outlet has some good buys and their close-out store is even better. I spent $56 and got lots of things. Though I didn't know what to expect, it seems that lots of schools must still be on spring break because there are lots of families here. We saw Grand Jubilee last night and it was as good as always. I did notice that when the New South members introduced once another, there was no mention made of Trey's wife (like there had been before). Does that mean he's no longer married? It's probably not my business, but I guess the Branson entertainers make themselves so accessible by the audience that we begin to feel we know them. The new members of the cast at Grand Jubliee seem to fill the bill.

Sounds like you've gotten a good start
Did you go on H west of Hannibal? We wondered if there would be any water problems down in there.

To Preacherman - sorry to be so late. We didn't see any water on the way down. It's pouring down rain today and forecasted for tomorrow also. We've had some rain off and on, but at least it's not snowing. We didn't come down on H though, but we'll go home that way.

March 24th-April 1st

Just another note that won't mean too much if you're not from Southeast Iowa - specifically the Burlington area. On our way home we'll be stopping at the HyVee in Osage Beach to see the store director, who recently transferred from the Agency Street store in Burlington. Our son works at the Burlington store, so we'll stop for a few minutes to see Tim Cernan who's in Osage Beach now. I've told my son if they ever put a store in Branson he shoujd transfer here.

Thanks - maybe you could let Crazy4Branson and us know how it is on the way home on H?

We drove H on the way home and had no problems. Really didn't see much water on our route. There has been flooding east of Branson, but we weren't near any of it. The dam still had five gates open, and the rivers and lake looked high. We were told there's a park in Forsyth that will be completely under water now though because of recent rains. According to the weather reports, the area had 10+ inches more rain in March than they typically do. Things were green down there and the flowers were blooming. It looked barren in Burlington when we returned. I miss Branson already, though I did like sleeping in my bed last night.
