Some of the places we ate

I'm doing a trip report of sorts on my blog, but I didn't really go into detail about our dining, so I thought I'd post our dining review.

Saturday, 3/15 -- We met one of my internet friends at Rib Crib. We had so much fun talking I can't really remember how the food tasted. I had a turkey club and the turkey was very moist and tender. I think my husband and son had burgers. It was good food and we probably wouldn't have tried this place if my husband hadn't suggested it.

Sunday, 3/16 -- Panera for lunch (which is always light and fresh) and Dixie Stampede for dinner. Love the meal at Dixie Stampede.

Monday, 3/17 -- Ruby Tuesday next to Wal-mart. My daughter and I were craving salads. We got the mini-burgers and salad bar deal. It was completely uncrowded in the restaurant and we had to wait a bit for a table (I'm assuming so that the wait staff wasn't overloaded). The waitress still managed to totally mess up our order -- we got 2 mini-burgers, a kids mini-burger (which was plain rather than having the adult toppings) and a turkey mini-burger. And no kids meal for my youngest. To their credit, they did get out the other mini-burger and my daughter's kids meal, but the cheese on her grilled cheese wasn't even melted. Not my favorite meal of the week.

Tuesday, 3/18 -- I have no idea where we ate this day. And looking back at my report, it looks like it may have been Ruby Tuesday. So I don't know where we ate Monday, I guess. After our show that night, we drove through Taco Bell. It was edible.

Wednesday, 3/19 -- Grand Country Buffet for breakfast. Love this breakfast -- it's one of the only buffets I'll eat. We all got lots of fresh fruit (so hard to find when you're eating in restaurants for a week), and my son and I shared a made-to-order omelette. Yummy! Dinner was Olive Garden. We had a $50 gift card. My husband had lasagna, my youngest had a pizza and the rest of us had spaghetti and meatballs. It was good, but overpriced. Even drinking water and having the gift card, we still had a balance. Of course, the 2 oldest are now eating off the adult menu. Eating out is getting a lot more expensive all over.

Thursday, 3/20 -- My husband was feeling ill, so I took the kids to Luigi's Pizza. It was so good! We ate an entire x-large pizza by ourselves (but my son is 13, so that might explain a lot of that).

Friday, 3/21 - It was my middle child's birthday, but she couldn't decide where she wanted to eat. My husband started driving down the strip and when I saw Gilley's, I suggested we try it. It was really good, and I loved that 2 of us could get Mexican while the others had American. Margaritas were good, too!

Saturday, 3/22 -- Lunch was American Bandstand. Again, good food. The chicken fingers are my husband's favorite. I'm not quite as in love with this place as Dan, but my fajita salad was good. Dinner was Luigi's delivery. Hey, it's going to be 2 months before we get back and can have that delicious pizza again!

Sunday, 3/23 -- Easter breakfast was doughnuts from Dunkin Donuts, which we ate on the way home. The best doughnuts anywhere!

Hey, we had Gilley's on Friday as well. We love the food! The fajitas are great. We had it late Friday night. What time were you and your family there?

Good review there teacherlady.

Glad to hear Gilleys has good Mexican food. I'm not a Mexican food fan, but other family members are...
I hear yah about kids leaping to the "adult menu." Now just wait til they get to page two of the adult menu-----what's on page two you say??? Why thats the drivers license page

We were there very early -- around 4 pm. We had eaten lunch very early, so we got hungry pretty early. We were the only people in Gilley's for a long time.

We like Gilley's too! Haven't eaten there in a couple of years, but plan to when we're there in May. And I agree they do have good margaritas!!

Good food report. We really like Luigi's pizza also. Last summer we got the lunch special and felt it was a pretty good deal.

Oh, I forgot... we stopped at Maggie Moos on Tuesday. That night I got so ill that we had to leave my favorite show at intermission. It was a bummer because I just couldn't even enjoy the thought of Maggie Moos after that. We did eat at Baskin Robbins in the Imax twice after that, though. Very good, but not as good as Maggie Moos when I'm feeling good.
