Clay Cooper Country Express 2008

Last week we went to see Clay Cooper's 2008 show.

They have added lots of new material ( music, comedy and dance) while keeping some of the best from the old show. There were some changes in the cast. Jenna Crispin is no longer with the show. There was a new dancer, a young man who danced in some of the routines. He seemed to be very talented. There were two band members who were not there earlier last year. They may have joined the show before last season ended.

Clay has a great voice and we enjoyed him as much as ever. Matt Gumm is back with some good comedy and also doing more as a vocalist. Johnny Lonestar also took a larger part in the show. He was in some of the numbers other than his own special routines.

We were most impressed with some of the new dance numbers. In the second half they did a "rhythm/dance" number that was fantastic. Tina Cooper is a fine choreographer. One of the things that sets this show apart from other country music shows is the strong cast of dancers and the dance routines. It is far beyond just clogging or square dancing.

Like all of our favorites this is a true fast paced variety show. The cast is very talented and the show has a great (live) band. We would certainly recommend it to anyone.

Thanks for such a nice and descriptive review. We've heard nothing but good things about the Clay Cooper show!!

It sounds like it's a really good one this season. We're looking forward to adding it to our list of things to do in Branson this year.

Thanks again for the review, I really enjoyed reading it and hearing raves on Clay's cast and show.

Excellent review. Clay Cooper is the first show that we schedule when we come to Branson. We celebrate our wedding anniversary by going to this show - 54 years in June.
What a treat!

The new young man is Nathan Applegate. He is from American Kids/Raising America and performed with them at Silver Dollar City for years. Nathan is the kind of talent American Kids produces-everyone should see their show for the veterans.....Goood luck Nathan with the Clay Cooper show!

Thanks for your great review. We saw Clay Cooper's show two years ago and it sounds like we ought to catch it again this year.

I really enjoyed reading your review and am glad to hear they changed some things for this year. We went to Clay's show 3 or 4 times last year and will definitely be going back this year. I always like it when there are some new things each year.
