Flooding

If you get the chance, drive up Hwy 13 to where James River crosses. The flooding a little north of Nixa is unreal.
Coming over the Kim City bridge today it looked as if a boat might have a problem getting under the bridge. Normally there is lots of room.
I'll try to get some pix of Table Rock tomorrow.

Well, just my luck, I suppose. Two days in Branson, nothing but rain, and now that we're leaving, the water will follow us to New Orleans. We're expecting high river waters by April 9. Not good news...we live 5 blocks from the Mississippi River. We're on alert, and you all know I don't trust those levees...

Headed out for The Dewey Center to get in a walk/run and to see how the lake looked . We left about 11AM and encountered some of the heaviest SDC traffic we have seen. Happily, we were going against the flow. At Dewey short we headed out onto the trail and got about 50 yards before it turned into a babbling brook. For those that know the area, the water is a long way from the trail....normally

So we drove to the State Park hoping to get around the flooding. Nope.
This is the boat dock which is now on top of the trail. The Ride the Ducks were using this area today also.

Ok, so now we try the other direction and it is fine for about 1/2 mile then this.... If a person would continue straight ahead here the water would be over their head after about 100 feet. This is some serious water. The slips that hold the large houseboats are also in this area. At normal levels you look down on the boats...Today they were eye level. A little spooky.

So we went to Lowes.....perfectly dry there Bought wood for an arc

Question flooding

What is the damage in town? Are any of the shows / shopping / silver dollar city affected? What about the condos on table rock lake?

My family and I are supposed to be there next Sunday and we're a little worried about our vacation. Any suggestions?

You won't even notice a thing different on the strip.

What about Branson Landing? Did any of the shops there flood? How high is the water at the White River Fish House?

The water coming out of the dam was awesome. I went out there and took a few pictures too. There was a bunch of people taking them. This is a view from the top of the dam.

We stopped by the dam on our way home. The gates were all open then. We didn't observe any flooding at any of the Branson places that we went. We did see lots of flooding on our way to Branson on Tuesday afternoon. The flooding along Hwy 65 was like the movie "river wild". It was amazing! I heard that night that two cars had been washed away. A chunk of pavement out of hwy. 65 was also washed out.

Just returned from Branson today. We saw absolutely NO flooding endangering any structures. SDC is open. Malls are fine. 76 is fine. Branson Landing was high and dry.
Didn't see the condos on Table Rock.
