Try this one! NEW!!!
Spring in the Ozark Mountains is a special time of year, a time when things start “springing up” all over. Trees start to bloom as do the flowers, and in Branson the shows start to bloom too. This spring a brand new show has been “planted” in Branson, Mo that is sure to take root and grow into the hearts of all who see it. “Breaking up Is Hard to Do”, A Musical Featuring The Songs of Neil Sedaka begins area appreciation this week at 8:00pm in the newly renovated Branson Star Theatre located on W Hwy 76, behind the Olive Garden restaurant.
“Breaking Up is Hard to Do” features 19 songs written by singer and legendary songwriter Neil Sedaka including hits like “ Happy Birthday Sweet SIXteen”, “Calendar Girl”, ”Laughter In The Rain”, “Love will keep us together” and of course the title song “ Breaking up is hard to do”. The show is unique in the fact that it is a musical comedy that weaves Sedaka’s songs with a sweet comic story of two friends from Brooklyn, NY and their wonderful Labor Day weekend at “Esther’s Paradise”, a resort in the Catskill Mountains in the year 1960. Breaking Up has broken all box office records in Miami,Fl, Long Island, NY, And Albany, NY. . Nancy Laribee of the Capital Repertory Theater said; "We knew opening night we were extending the show. The word of mouth has never spread more quickly, and we were virtually sold out the entire run. “Breaking up is hard to do” broke every box office record for 5-week runs in our 25 year history." "A knockout production, A smart tongue-in-cheek, bouncy little musical, a foot-tapping workout that thoroughly pleased a packed house." - Paul Lamar, the Daily Gazette "Sedaka's tunes are delightfully melodic and feel right at home on the theatrical stage." - Michael Eck, Times Union "They use some of my best known songs and some hidden treasures. It sounds as though the songs were written for the show."-Neil Sedaka The show runs Tuesday – Sunday at 8:00pm through December. MARK TWAIN at the Owen's Theatre, downtown.
No music. It's educational. But you will laugh throughout the show until your sides hurt as Samuel Clemens tells the story of his life and discusses the work of Norman Rockwell. |
