Grand Country and Golden Corral will get most of the nods.
I personally prefer Golden Corral for breakfast. We usually do not eat at a buffet for dinner. I love those freshly made omelets! Those guys make it look so easy. |

The only buffets that I want to eat at are ones where no one else has been into them before I get to the spoon. Call me crazy - but after someone has sneezed on their hand, picked up the spoon, dropped the spoon handle back into the food, I'm not too interested in eating anymore.
Dont' get me wrong, I eat at them occasionally - but it's definately not my first choice of places to eat. |

I am not "freaked" about it. I just think it is a good practice.![]() I use it after I order and hand the menu to the server too. I think menus are nasty too. ![]() |

Breakfast - Grand Country very good. Dockers wasn't bad either for breakfast, wouldn't go back for any other meals there though except the breakfast. been several years but Golden Corral was good
Lunch-- only buffet lunch i've had was more of a brunch on Sunday morning at Grand Country and it was very good, mix of breakfast and lunch items dinner -- we like.... once again Grand Country Thanksgiving ---- Grand Country --- see a pattern? ![]() although-- closer to home I do like golden corral for the steaks, haven't had them in Branson, but they got really good steaks at the one closest to us. i'm not big on buffet's either but everyonce in awhile we go to one, I try to block things out about how clean or not clean it is. |

Last time I ate at Golden Corral was for Valentine's Day. We went there for dinner. This will be the last time I will eat there!! The steak griller accepted a plate from a customer with a cut-up steak on it and dumped it on the flat grill with all the fresh steaks. Come to find out the griller was management and the other 2 managers on duty defended the action. I made a call to the health department and they also agreed with me and said they would be making a special trip out there that week to address it. She said that the steak should have been thrown away and a new one served. She said that even though the grill was hot, it may not be hot enough to kill all germs and the risk was still there to spread germs from customer's steak to the fresh steaks. I filled out there survey online and got a call from management, but not to say the action was wrong, but to defend it, once again!! If this sort of action is going on in front of customers, what is going on behind the scenes?? YUK!
As for my family, we frequently visit The Rails and Hong Kong. These are seem to be really clean facilities. |

I hate to hear about your experience at Golden Corral. We've never had that problem there. I agree with some posters about being wary of buffets because of the germ sharing, but Golden Corral has always seemed to me to be one of the cleanest and best around.
I am surprised to hear that some people like Dockers... I ate breakfast there once and swore I wouldn't go back! Maybe I went on a bad day... |

I thought the buffet at Shoney's was pretty decent for breakfast and lunch. I haven't eaten dinner there yet though.

...The Buffet at the Keeter Center College of the Ozarks is truely the best buffet....right down to the homemade dessert table...but...ya might need to mortgage the house or steal my last goat to pay the price on a holiday such as Easter, Mothers Day, Fathers Day....etc.
