Tourism Ctr Question
Has anyone ever bought tickets thru the Branson Tourism Center? They have the 2 day tickets and they have a gas promotion but I don't know if there are any "catches" or timeshare traps. Any info is appreciated.

I've purchased tickets from them in the past and have had no problems. There are no catches.

My info is a bit dated, but I bought tickets from them with no strings. When I went to pick them up they did offer the tickets at a reduced "timeshare price", but I just said no and that was that. Just be sure what you are buying and you should be fine.
I also had a reduced gas price deal which I didn't use because the reduced price was still higher than many other stations. Silly games....

While you are in this area for vacation, if you have plans to be at SDC or near the Branson West location of the Walmart Super Center you can count on gas being quite a bit less at Murphy's and you can get 3 cents more off using your Walmart card or loading a gift card and using that. Gas is SOMETIMES as much as 20 cents less than what I have to pay in Branson and ALWAYS at least 10 cents less....

Thanks for the 'heads up' Zach. We are usually in Branson West a few times during our trips!

Also, if you go about 1 mile south of Wal*Mart you will find a Shell station that almost always matches Wal*Mart on the pump price, plus they give an additional 3 cents off for cash. One more plus--Shell is top tier gas. http://www.toptiergas.com./index.html

...Also....if you are going North from Branson or coming from the North to Branson on Hwy 65....you have a Walmart and Murphy Station at one of the Ozark exits or Quik Trip at the next Ozark exit....(depending on the direction you are going)....both of these are within pennies of each other and offer the lowest price in the Springfield area.....as near as I can see it......ANYWAY folks....I TRY my best NOT to buy gas in Branson.....there is NO reason for the gas price to be higher than anywhere else unless they are planning on ripping YOU...the tourist off, and we who live here either pay it or drive out of town.....

We have 'never' bought gas in Branson. We usually try to fill up in the Springdale or Rogers area, even though we don't need it yet.
You're right Zach, there's absolutely no reason for Branson to be so darn high on their gas. ![]()

We don't buy gas in Branson unless it is absolutely necessary. We buy at the last station before the Arkansas state line; it's the one on the left going south; they are always less expensive than Branson.

We always use the QT in Ozark on our way home from Branson. You are absolutely right about the difference in price. One time we coasted there on fumes, because I kept telling my wife that it is 20 cents cheaper down the road.
And not only is the gas cheaper, but the selection of junk food is second to none. I always stop at a QT when I come across one. Have you ever noticed the selection of cups and lids. It is like a drink container buffet. You have your paper cup, your plastic cup, your styrophome cup, your mega travel mug, and a choice of like five different lids to fit each one. I always go with the 44 oz plastic cup with the plastic lid. I find that your drink is much more secure with this selection. And don't get me started of the coffee selections......... I am probably the only person on the planet that finds this fascinating. Ok, I am starting ramble. It is geting late. |

Nope.. I do too. I love QT's selection. They originally started in the Tulsa area, so there's one pretty much everywhere you turn around the city and I always make sure and hit up one before I head home from visiting my family there. Their coffee selection and possiblities of combinations are so awesome! And way cheaper than Starbucks- which I will always be partial to, but until they start selling gas at SB, I'll stick with QT on roadtrips. hehehe

![]() Much to my surprise though, there have been a few periods this winter when the gas at BW Wal*Mart and the Shell station mentioned above, were actually a penny or two lower ![]() .Yup., the coffee at QT is great also. ![]()
