Casinos between Springfield and Tulsa
My sister has a birthday coming up on March 17th. Her daughter wants the two of us to take her to a casino where she can do a little gambling but mostly just spend the weekend relaxing.
I would like to take her to one that is nice. Any suggestions? I do my gambling in Vegas so I am not familiar with the ones around here. When I have gone to the airport in Tulsa it seems like I have passed one on the right hand side of the road that looks huge and nice from the outside. Anyone know what that one is? I also prefer something around Tulsa so we can get out and go for a nice supper and maybe some night life. Also, that Buffalo Run is it out in the sticks or is there a good sized town? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you. |

Cherokee
I Believe The One You Are Refering To Is The Cherokee Casino On The East Side Of Tulsa. It Is Nice Inside. Cant Say We Won Much Money There, But What Casino Does Pay Like We Want Them To? We Have Been There On The Weekends Only, not During The Week. It Can Can Get Crowded At Night, But It Is A Good Size Casino. Hope You Have Good Luck.

I've played at that casino several times and always had a good time - never wagered high or won big, but had fun nonetheless. It would be a great place to stay if you are coming from Springfield because it has SUPER easy access from I-44. It does have a lot of construction on the grounds right now as it is being expanded.
P.S. - If you're going to be in Tulsa anyway, cruise on down I-44 to the Lewis Ave exit and visit Jamil's for the best steak you'll ever eat.

Thanks for the info. Looking at website pictures it appears that the Cherokee is the one I am thinking.
Hopefully, she will have good luck. Again, thanks for the info. |

Buffalo run
Buffalo run is in Miami Ok, which is not a large town. Never been there but they do bring in some big name entertainers, so you might check their website www.buffalorun.com to see who might be playing there at that time.
There are about 8-10 other Indian casinos in the Miami-Grove Ok area, some are out in the sticks, and not much to do there but gamble. |

I just saw on TV recently where the Creek Nation Casino on Riverside Drive in Tulsa has completed their renovation. It isn't as easy to access as Cherokee Casino in Catoosa, but they are having some good free concerts there the weekend of the 15th & 16th, like Everclear and Morris Day & the Time.

Thanks for the info Midnite Cruzer. I don't have a clue who Everclear and Morris Day & the Time are, sorry.
We had decided on the Cherokee but can't get a room other than a King. 3 women in 1 king bed, I don't think so. They did put me on the wait list for a room. Guess we will go and find something when we get there. The casino that I originally was thinking of was the Million Dollar Elm but they don't have a hotel. Thanks again for the help. |

I will advised you that everything in the immediate vicinity of Cherokee Casino is kinda on the seedy side, but if you take I-44 up to the Memorial Drive exit there are a lot of nice hotels & motels there.
Once you are in Tulsa you will see that it is a single perfect grid and impossible to get lost. the only thorofares that are not perfectly e/w or n/s are the interstates.

If you pass along Highway 60, Bordertown Casino in the smalll town of Seneca is an excellent casino. It's my favorite of the many in the SWMO/NEOK area.
And for later, a huge Casino resort, Downstream, is currently being built around Joplin, MO on I-44. First phase will be open this fall, an even larger hotel is also in the works.

I have been to Miami, Ok. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...did=807 04343 to there buffalo bike run. Did there 1st year there. They had about 1,000 bikes. Lots of places to gamble at if you want. And if you want to go into the southeren Kiamichi Mt's about 2 hours from Tulsa take the ride ti Idabell, OK. There are lots of places to gamble there as well. I spent last winter up there in OK. If i'm not mistaken if you are over 65 years old or on Soc. Sec. the Casino's in Idabell give you $10.00 of the house money to start with. And no you don't have to spend it all in one place. If you want to you could pull 1 slot & cash out and pocket the money. You can do good in OK. just doing that alone, lol. Also if you are in area they hold 2 bike shows just outside of Idabell each year. Ckeck out there website as well & they feed you for the weekend. http://www.pine-net.com/kib/ Take care & ride safe, Lou Anne
