A Deno's Chocolate Fried Pie Question

I'm sitting here wishing I had a chocolate fried pie from Deno's........I still haven't been there, you know..........so I'm thinking about buying one of those Hostess Chocolate fried pies..........but I know...I just know it won't even compare......right?..........my question is.......has anyone had a Deno's Chocolate Fried Pie.........tell me about it.......let me dream.......aaaaahhhhhhhh Deno's..........tell me all about it..........

Maybe they're just 'nasty'??

Maybe the Hostess Chocolate Fried Pie is much better than Deno's is!!

Don't know about the chocolate, but the lemon is heavenly!

I have had a couple of those...& I have the butt to prove it.....

They are "to-die-for" if you like a rich chocolate pudding & that flaky crust that only Deno's has....

If I lived in Branson, I know! I would be in that cafe everyday, ordering a broccoli/chicken for lunch; & then, later in the day, or for a late night snacky, a chocolate pie. m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m

Aintbug.....Sounds like you should get the dozen..since they're cheaper by the dozen!! That way you can try some of each!!

We're blessed to have some very good friends that are Amish. She makes the BEST FRIED PIES, homemade of course....(& sells them). I've occasionally helped her make them. She makes about 250 at a time. Sooooo we have them available to us on a regular basis. She'll be making them again on Friday.

Can't say what my favorite is!! They're all so good.

She makes Blackberry, Blueberry, Cherry, Apple, Peach, Apricot, Pineapple, Lemon, Coconut Cream, Chocolate Cream and Peanut Butter Cream.

We didn't try Deno's last Fall when in Branson, we'll have to try them next month to do a taste comparison. I'm sure Deno's are great too.

.....Hostess Chocolate....??...DON"T DO IT....Deno's is very good....Crazy4 said it all.....BS got me started on the Lemon and I like them as well as the Blackberry.....

....hey Starsy...please do a taste comparison....and tell us....I bet the Amish ones are awesome...don't know if Deno's can beat those or not.....(I was gonna say..."Please do do a taste comparison" but I figured you'd be all over me for the do-do!!!!...and I ain't cleanin' it up!)

Zachy...I would 'Never' pick on you for your 'do-do'!!!

We planned on trying Deno's when we were there last Fall, but we had this Amish couples '6 kids' with us, and knew they wouldn't be too interested in trying Denos... They have their mama's fried pies all the time. (Also her pizza ones, and chicken and tater ones)

We've tried quite a few 'fried pie shops'...and have yet to find one that compares. Although, like most things, once you're use to a certain kind of anything, you're hard to impress.

Will definately try Deno's when we're there!!! If there are any left!!! What day of the week do you go...so we can go on a different day....

.......What day of the week...???....ummm....Sun, Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat,...........Not really.....I actually have not been over there in several weeks.....if BS isn't picking up the slack Grant will probably go broke...........(ZACHY??!!!)

I've been doing my duty and picking up 2 or 3 every chance I get! I love chocolate, don't know why I haven't tried one of those yet. Maybe next trip
