New Years Day Paddle & Chili Dinner - Let's Brrr-ing in the New Year!
Ozark Mountain Rowing & Kayaking Club’s 2008 New Years Day Paddle & Chili Dinner Date: Tuesday, 01/01/2008 Who: All interested paddlers, regardless of club member status. Visitors are welcome! Where: Lake Taneycomo Put-in: Roark Creek next to North Beach Park just North of Belk Department Store in the Branson Landing — look at the end of this email for directions. Meet Time: 2:30 p.m. Info: This annual event is sure to attract many a hardy paddler (some may have another description) to join in the fun. This is a great way to “clear” one’s head to start off the New Year! Folks, this is a cold-water paddle, no children. Everyone must be dressed for a cold-water paddle. All paddlers must wear a PFD while on the water. Please plan to be at the put-in early so the kayaks will be in the water at 2:30 p.m. Directions: From the Business Highway 65/Branson Landing Boulevard roundabout, head south over the bridge over Roark Creek. Turn left at the first entrance into the Belk parking lot. Follow the road heading west toward Lake Taneycomo. Turn left onto the dirt/gravel road just before the construction trailer. Follow the dirt/gravel road 150 foot traveling north (this runs parallel to the North Beach Park) to the put-in. After Paddle: We will gather at the French Hen Café & CoffeeHouse in the Offices at CastleRock, 1015 Highway 248, Branson after the paddle for complimentary chili! Contact: Eric Farris by email at: eric@farrislawgroup.com IF ANYONE WANTS TO GO ON THIS OR ANY OTHER TRIP BUT YOU DON'T HAVE A KAYAK, PLEASE CONTACT EITHER RODNEY WRIGHT WITH 165 MARINA VIEW (336-2811) OR LARRY THOMPSON WITH GALLOWAY CREEK OUTFITTERS (887-1005) TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO RENT A KAYAK TO BE DELIVERED TO THE LAUNCH LOCATION. |

The Ozark Mountain Rowing & Kayaking Club is a not-for-profit organization. The above post was made in the Outdoor Activities forum about our annual New Years Day paddle. I used my handle registration to make the post about this upcoming activity since I am a Board member of the Club. I have made previous postings about our club meetings and trips in this forum. Hopefully, this explanation will calm your concern about "advertising" when the original post was intended to promote a free outdoor activity which the Club is sponsoring in the Branson community not as an advertisement for a for-profit business.
If you are interested in our organization, please come out paddling with us on 1/1/8 at 2:30 p.m.! |

get a grip
We are advertising events, and the frenchhen told us about an event.
Many Many Many of the posters here have advertised their company, event, or resturant, ((Need I say Denos, or Sundowner, or any of the other places?). It really ticks me off when someone posts and then someone else jumps them about threir post. Let us keep this a happy freindly place.
