My Las Vegas Trip

I wanted to share my wonderful Las Vegas Trip with all. We arrived in Vegas on Sunday, December 2nd. McCarren Airport was the busiest I have ever seen it and I have been there several times. It took us almost an hour to get our luggage. I don't know if it was because of the NFR (Rodeo) being in town or what. My sister and her husband stayed at the MGM Grand. The room was very nice with a spectacular view but the employees (Especially valet) were not that hospitable...They even yelled at us!! We ate at MGM on Sunday night at Shibuya. It is mainly a Sushi menu. It was fantastic...If you love Sushi, you would love it. The wait staff was wonderful. We had my 1 year old niece with us and they were falling all over her! The prices were pretty reasonable as well. On Monday night, I met up with some of my old Legends dancer friends and we just grabbed a bite at Red Robin. It was pretty good. Monday night I went to see the show Bite at the Stratosphere. I really enjoyed it...though it may be a little risque for some. It is a vampire themed show...the choreography is phenomenal. It is a musically tracked show that features mostly classic rock. They also have a very talented male vocalist (who is singing live) and 2 specialty acts (2 aerialist and silks). Tuesday night (my last night there) we did a walk through of the Hooters Casino....Surpisingly it was really cute. After that we had dinner and it was the best dinner I have ever had in my life!!! Craftsteak which is owned by Tom Colicchio (for those Top Chef fans). It was incredible. I had the hanger steak. It was one of the least expensive things on the menu!! As sides, we all shared, Jerusalem artichoke, Bleu Cheese Grits, Caesar Salad, Fennel Salad, Frisee Salad (to die for!!) Potato and Leek Gratin and Prosciutto that melted in your mouth. It is very expensive but it was worth every cent. Our server was so helpful and answered every question I threw at him. It had a very nice atmosphere...not too stuffy!!! We left full and happy!! After that, I hit the casino where I won $465.00 on The Wheel Of Fortune!! Sorry my review was so long but I sure do love Las Vegas!!!

CONGRATULATIONS on your graduation, from your treatments!

Thanks for the review. I've always wanted to go to Las Vegas, but I don't gamble...not much, anyway. I'm WAY too stingy. So, I love hearing about all the other things to be done, there. Thanks!

Vegas

LasVegas is one of those places that everyone should visit at least once in their lives. You don't have to be a gambler to enjoy the place. You can wander in & out of the hotel lobbies, gardens & grounds, looking at the architectural scenery; sit & people-watch at the many sidewalk cafes; do world class shopping. I went into a Tiffany's for the first time in my life @ Vegas. Bought a necklace there. The fine dining opportunites are many. Just go! & see for yourself !

I used to go to Las Vegas about twice a year from 2000 to 2005. I stopped going because I don't like to gamble and I only came into town for the shows.

The shows because too expensive. I don't mind paying up to $50 for a show and a few Cirque shows are worth way more but when the normal price of a good show became $150 and even the "cheap daytime shows" became $40, I decided to stop going.

I enjoyed the attractions so if a person wants to come into town and see things for free there are PLENTY of things to do that do not cost a dime. Me, girlfriend and her 4 kids sent 3 days seeing free stuff and just "messing around" and we had a blast. We sent and saw a few shows but most of the time, we were walking around seeing the free sights.

Congrats on your last treatment. That's something to celebrate!!

And thanks for the nice trip report. It sounds like you had a great time. We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE VEGAS!! We are not gamblers (much) either. There's so much to see and do, remember, tons of people actually 'live there'!! So we see the whole area most of the times we go, unless it's just a quicky trip.

We've also seen allot of shows, and sorry but have never paid anywhere near $150 for a show. Of any kind.

Anyway, thanks for the great reports all the way around.
