War Eagle Mill Craft Fair

I would like to hear from those of you who have attended the War Eagle Mill Craft Fair. We are considering stopping here on our way to Branson. Does this show's crafts focus mainly on crocheted doilies & yard art or is it as advertised - stained glass, weaving, quilts, etc.?

Is it worth the stop? Or would you recommend another stop in the area? We will be coming up on October 19th.

Thanks.

It is huge!! There are a ton of different crafts and most of them are very skilled and they look top notch. It is so busy sometimes that you have a hard time walking through of seeing things and a few years ago, I went with a friend and she took me to one in the same area called Apple Mill (I think that was the name, it was apple something). It was not as busy and I still thought it was great. One of the crafters said that the space rent at War Eagle was getting too high, so alot had broken off and started going to the other one.

I hope this helps a little.

We've been to War Eagle Craft Fair, many, many, many times over the years. As jbzmom said, it's 'huge'. This is one of the largest craft fairs in the country, if not the largest, both Spring and Fall. The Fall one is the larger of the two.

There are 100's of crafters, quality items along with antiques, food, etc that come in from all over. War Eagle Mill became so full of vendors, years ago, that small venues started springing up all over that area in various directions. Including other craft venues, parking lots, etc. But the vendors at War Eagle itself, are still the most attended of them all. Bus loads of people arrive as part of the Fall tours.

If you don't arrive 'early'...really early, you most likely will be tied up in traffic on the small curvey roads that enter into War Eagle from several directions.

We use to try to 'be there' by 9:00 a.m. to have a chance at any parking. You can easily spend the whole day, or more, and never get to all of areas.

If you do stop at it, have fun!!

The apple festival was named Applegate but it has moved further south in Arkansas.

Went once, but won't do it again. Too far to walk from parking, too crowded for me; however, my DIL & her family go every year. Just not my thing.
