Rivals of Hell's Angels stabbed in Eureka Springs

Associated Press - July 29, 2007 8:24 PM ET

EUREKA SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - Four members of a rival gang of the Hell's Angels were stabbed as the motorcycle gang's days-long meeting in Eureka Springs was breaking up today. A spokesman for the Arkansas State Police says an altercation between members of the Hell's Angels and the rival Bandidos gang broke out on the property of the Candlewick Inn on Highway 62. Four members of the Bandidos were stabbed. 2 of them suffered critical injuries and were taken to a Washington County hospital. The other two were taken to hospitals in Springdale and Eureka Springs. All of the victims were from Texas. Arkansas State Police took three suspects into custody. The names of those involved were not immediately available.

Almost 60 additional troopers had been assigned to Eureka Springs and Carroll County in anticipation of some trouble with the arrival of Hell's Angels members last week. The troopers were returning to their normally assigned stations today.

There's always got to be one incident that throws things like that gathering into a bad light. I'm guessing the vast majority of the bikers that were there are just disgusted over this.

I didn't think the Angels were still doing this. Sounds like something from a 60's Billy Jack movie...

Well crap...there is always some ''A____s" in every crowd...especially these hot heads.

Yup MsTerese lots of ''cops'' on bikes there too this weekend...incognito.....from all over the state................whatamess.

I suppose this will put a damper on the guys leaving out for Sturgis this next weekend..............that is always a cluster_____(gotta clean up my written words)............BUT ALOT OF BIKERS are on their way to Sturgis....including the ones I know.

I hope this doesnt put a hex on the rest of the gatherings........I know some really high end bikers........who love their biking and their bikes and fixing them up.

sidebar:
My neighbor in the 60s....(in California) was a member of a Bikers Group...(not HA's...but another)............he was big and muscular...(good lookin)....all week he was in a business suit in a Chevelle Sport Coup....(or something..navy with white top)............on the weekend in leathers: vests and chaps and boots...and a red bandana............ON THE ROAD AGAIN............He never ceased to amaze me..........A LAWYER ON THE ROA on a TWO WHEELER? Interesting............
He had some interesting stories about what he saw and heard............
He was a crusader, out there to make bikers look better..........one of the starters in a ''charity'' effort by bikers for sick kids...........and for teddy bears and toys for sick kids, and orphaned kids...

I just hate that a few drugged up drunks, with knives........ruin the efforts of the new generation of cleaned up bikers............arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

You know, that was my question to DH when we were in ES on Saturday..... I know several biker groups that do wonderful charitable work and are just great people....haven't heard a word about Hells Angels since I don't know when, but they had a horrible reputation in the 70's.....have they shaken the reputation of drugs and thugs since then?

Nope

Definitely is something not to be messed with.

There sure were a lot of them around this weekend.

I don't know about the Hell's Angels cleaning up their act...
I just know they are out numbered by good guys and girls, who do charitable work, escort our Military safely to airports and to cemeteries....etc etc...the good out weighs the bad when it comes to bikers in our new generation of riders..........

But the media will run with the few ''rabble rouzzzers''.........

Its like one big truck drives bad and has accident........ALL TRUCKERS ARE IDIOTS

One PRIEST molests a child...ALL PRIESTS are terrible...

Well we know the routine...........

Obviously there was a ''bad apple'' in ES this weekend...........and that press will destroy years of GOOD WORKS.

Now Folks if You Will Elect Me to be Your Sheriff, my Policy Will be Not to Interrupt These Fights Until Some Real Damage Has Been Done

The Hells Angles came down to my hometown (end of the road, small town in Arkansas on White River) once or twice a year. They would come down on a road trip. Camp out, do some weed, go home. They were nice to everybody. The said yes mam/sir to the owners of the little store in town. No one ever had a problem.

The Banditios in Little Rock were the major source of Coke in the 80 then METH in the 90s. A friend worked on the K9 unit in Little Rock and he was always talking about them. He said the HA in Little Rock had turned into more of a club. They still had a few bad guys but they were not the real bad ones. The Banditios had surpassed them.

Believe me, they did not retire after the 90's. They are still pushing whatever they can, where ever they can.

I highly doubt it, if the majority of the bikers over this past week-end were Hell's Angels or Bandidos.

As Hunter's Friend said...These bikers are not to be messed with.

Have they calmed down since all the media attention in the 60's and 70's?? Not at all.

I don't think what happened will have any effect on Sturgis.

Billy Jack has his own website and if I am not mistaken, is considering a Presidential run.

Trying to remember if there was any trouble when the "HA" came to Branson a while back. How about it "Branson Bluesman" or any one that knows.

Not sure if I remember...was this back during the era when someone spray painted the p---s orange on the horse statue out in front of the old Jesse James motel on 76?
I think it was, but I may be wrong...
