August 10, Car show Weekend

My brother desperately wants to come to Branson before school starts. It looks like August 10th is the only weekend he has available. I just found out that the car show is that weekend. We/I have no real interest in the car show but was wondering if anyone can tell me how many people that brings in and how every other business is affected. Is traffic the worst ever? Are SDC, WW & CC too hard to get into? He's really wanting to come and I just was wondering how bad is bad. We haven't found any rooms yet, lots of hotels are completely sold out. I just wanted your opinion on the car show weekend. Thank you.

we were there once during the car show about 3 or 4 years ago.... the crowds were some of the worst i've ever seen.... and i've been to Branson on the 4th of July, Veterans Weekend, and Thanksgiving Weekend.... car show topped them all in traffic jams, long lines ect...., one good thing, most of the car people didn't care about things like SDC so the crowds there seemed a bit smaller.

it was loud, it was crowded, certainly different than anything i'd ever seen in Branson our motel was on 76 and it was so loud all night you couldn't sleep. and yet even with all that it was kind've interesting, I don't care about cars either but there were some interesting cars..... and people.... to look at.

Here's the link for the Car Cruise. It does get crowded, but there sure is a lot of nice iron running around. I'm even thinking of putting my beast into the "Show and Shine."

Same here.

Either going to take the Chief or the Vette.

Absolutely without a doubt the best event in Branson, bar none.

All I have to say is if you are coming to Branson that weekend, make sure you book your room NOW! You may still have trouble finding a room! I remember last year my grandma came for an unexpected visit during that weekend. She got stuck for hours in traffic (about midnight) and the closest she could find a room was in Kimberling City! However the major attractions were not that busy. The car show tourists were all preoccupied!

Thank you to everyone for helping me. I guess we are going to try it. Now to the hard part of finding a room or condo for two nights.

The prices are shown at their website.

One thing I learned last year, is that if you go to the "Show and Shine" you should try to be the first one there because it gets real crowded and parking is a pain for late comers, plus it gets hotter

Those aren't bad prices. $20.00 for a 2 day pass. That sound's good to me.

Either it doesn't say it clearly on the website, or I'm blind.....which evening do the cars cruise the Strip? Any of them before midnight?

It starts on both Friday and Saturday. (Saturday being the "official" day)

Figure on being there somewhere around 10p.m. and staying there until around 3 or 4 a.m.

Just a blast all the way around.

Agree Hunter, this HAS become the BIGGEST weekend of the year in Branson.
Lets look at this.
Lots of Drinking and parties.
Fast LOUD Cars.
Hot women in sexy clothes.
Largest crowd of the year, and only time MANY hotels are full!!
Largest $$$$ weekend for MANY businesses in Branson.

After analysing the above, maybe this is an indicator of what is fun??? and maybe could change the slump in Branson?
