Substitute Teacher Pay

Does anyone know how much a substitute teacher makes for a day of work in the Branson School District?

That's not statewide is it? I would think each district has it's own pay scale. At least that's how it is here.

Could be..I only know about the Tulsa area schools but Ok is well known for low teacher's salaries compared to the bordering states.

Our daughter is a teacher in the Blue Springs Mo school district and she says they pay subs in the $70 range, and she also says that they are paying at the lower end of the metro KC area pay scale for subs. One neighboring district where her friends teach pays subs $115/day.

That surprises me!! The Van Buren/Fort Smith area pay for subs is $60-70. I can see OK as a whole being low but not the Tulsa or OK City area.

Sounds like a lot of work for 70 bucks if you ask me. I'm not a teacher, but I know they work their tails off and get abused by the kids. I know, I was once a kid myself.

Well, we're way off topic here, but I think in my district subs get in the area of $80/day. More if they are "long-term" subs -- filling in for a teacher on medical leave, finishing out the school year if a teacher leaves for some reason, or for some positions (especially my area, special education) just subbing year round because no certified teachers would take the job. Of course, I also work in a large district and a sub here can work every day of the year if they are dependable and can manage some sort of control over the classroom. I don't think hardly a day goes by where we don't need at least one sub in my school -- and sometimes 8 or 9 in the middle of winter.
