fishing at dogwood canyon???
we have two families visiting branson July 27- aug 3. The two men want to fly fish some but we will only have one car for all of us. We have a 17 and 15 year old girls going and a 4 year old. I was hopeing to find some place for all of us to enjoy doing something while they fished. I checked out the Dogwood canyon website and it said that they have fishing and other things to do such as horseback ride, tram tour and walking trail. Can anyone give me any input or advice on this or any other ideas that may help me.

I am not sure what the criteria is for fishing but I know they have lots of fish there and there is an area that can be fished. I think you can get information on their website http://www.dogwoodcanyon.com/
We took the tram tour a couple of months ago and had a GREAT time. It is beautiful there. You can also pay a smaller fee and walk into parts of the park. The kids would probably like the tram tour and feeding the fish. At the top of the hill area they have some buffalo and elk I think. One the cow elks came right up to the tram to see us. I would suggest that you take the first tram tour in the morning though. We did and by the time we returned they were waitlisted for tram tours. Also take snacks for the kids if you go in the earlier morning hours because the little restaurant was not open until 11 or so and I had not had breakfast - I ended up having to buy a sandwich from the store there. Not my favorite breakfast. In any event - it is a beautiful must see area. |

Dropping you off at one of those locations would probably work too. As long as you have cell phones you would probably do just fine. Be sure to see Dogwood canyon though because it is absolutely beautiful. I don't think you will be sorry. Hope you have a great vacation! I can't wait for our next trip in September!

I have not personally fished at Dogwood Canyon but have heard only positive reports from others who have. We visit Dogwood Canyon regularly for horseback riding and have only been pleased with their service.
