What to do when it rains in Branson?

This time of year there are frequent showers and high humidity. When you've had an outdoor activity planned --and then you have to cancel it, what options are most used on rainy days? Are there any attractions that offer "rainchecks"? Or are there any attractions or theaters that offer special prices if it rains?

When I was in town with girlfriend and her 4 kids, we would leave SDC (they never offered a raincheck because they stayed open but closed the rides so you were free to set around and watch the rain) and go to the indoor water park on 76. It stayed open all the time and we would always bring our bathing suits. Sometimes we would go and see a show in place of spending the day at SDC but that got expensive after paying for the admission to SDC.

When I used to go to SDC it never failed when I went it would rain. We stayed and had a great time. You're gonna get wet anyway on the wet rides.

We're another family who doesn't let rain change our plans. If it's only rain, most of the rides at SDC don't close (they will close for lightening). Shows are all indoors. The crowds are noticeably smaller and we can get a lot more done.

Otherwise, there's the Imax and the movie theaters. Ripley's, Wax Museum, Titanic.

Grand Country is a good place to go on a rainy day. Be sides the indoor water park, they also have the arcade and indoor mini-golf too.

When it rains in Branson, go fishing in the trophy area. Put on your waders and wade on in. If it rains, what does it matter? You are half wet already? Fly

Our vacations are very always only 3 day weekend vacations. Last year it rained all 3 days we were there, except for the day we came home..it was beautiful!! Anyway, we spent almost a whole day at Bass Pro in Springfield, they next day we played indoor golf at Grand Country, visited the wax museum, Ripleys, Target and a few other shops. This was our family vacation. When its just me, my mother and SIL, we dont care if its raining or not cause all we do is SHOP!!

This year our family vacation will be 4 whole days long and one of those days will be spent in Silver Dollar City, rain or no rain we will be there!!

There are so many indoor things to do around Branson already mentioned above....... something else we do is hang out under the awning of the camper and watch it rain or play games in the camper or at the clubhouse. Also if its not storming the indoor pool at camp is an option.

I like to go to the IMAX when it rains because there's food, shops, shows...live and Imax movies and other current movies.

When it rains while we are in Branson we just grab the umbrella's and keep on going. There have been a few rains though that were even too heavy for the umbrella's and then we just try to get inside somewhere and wait it out for awhile. I can't see letting a little water stop us from having fun.

We stay at SDC if that's where we're at - as others have mentioned, the park clears out, and we can browse the shops and visit with the potter, and the glass blowers... for hours. I can remember one spring day that it rained all day while we were at SDC, but as a rule, the rain is gone w/in an hour or so, and the sun is back to baking everyone dry.

If I'm shopping, I won't notice that it's raining, lol.

Dh and I often end up at Engler block in the rain.

We avoid places like the Imax, and Grand Country due to the crowds that end up there.

This question gave me a good laugh! My husband and I always had the worst luck with Branson rain! It would be the most beautiful day in the world but when we would get in the car and head to Branson the clouds would turn black, the thunder would roll, and the lightening would strike all around us. It used to happen soo much that any rain would make one of us say "Ah, We should be in Branson!" The rain never affected our trips though, like the others say they have so many indoor options available that you can always find fun things to do. My husband and I have finally lost the black clould that was hanging over us, the last several trips to Branson have been rain-free. When the rain starts pounding on the car, I always think of Branson and the wonderful times my husband and I had ( and all the laughter).
