Lambert's at Sikeston, Mo
Was anyone watching the Travel Channel tonight and see the program on the best places to PIG OUT in the United States? Lambert's at Sikeston was the #1 place in the nation to pig out! And the one at Ozark has to be not far behind!!!!

That's the only Lamberts that we've ever been to, and we LOVE it! I missed the show tonight, darn it, but have seen it listed on the countdown of food shows before.

You made me hungry when you said Lambert's. I didn't know there was more than 1. I thought the only one was the one close to Springfield.
I was thinking about driving up and getting their at 11:00am when they open and have lunch. I am in Branson on a mini-vacation today, tomorrow and I had thought about doing that a few weeks ago but now I am MORE about doing it. I LOVE that place but I hate to wait (just myself, I like to get my food and eat) but if I get there early, maybe I can beat the crowd. |

Actually, the way I understand it from Sikeston folks is that their's is the "original Lambert's", the first one. Now there is the one in Springfield and I believe one in Alabama as well. Sounds like a winning idea kbradleyar....you get there early enough, you can be the leader of the pack of folks that will be waiting to get in. ![]()

A person I meet at a theater last year was telling me about one in Alabama or Georga. They saw it when they were driving to Branson and was wondering if it was the same Lamberts in Springfield. I told them I didn't know but I thought there was only one.
Wow. The first time I have been wrong ThIS YEAR. At least I got 7 months into the year before my first mistake. Really: Thanks for telling me. I never know. I love Lambert's food. I have never had anything that wasn't fantastic. My ONLY complaint is they are so good, the wait is horrible. It is worth it but I enjoy WHINING. |

All Lambert's are owned by the same folks, I think. And, they're all equally good...
![]() There are a few around here who might benefit from being smacked upside the head with a hot roll... ![]()

We ate at the one in Sikeston last winter. It was our first time to a Lambert's.
It was so good and fun - but I'll tell you .. to do it while you're on the road .. Oh MY .... we were so stuffed afterwards everyone fell asleep (except my husband who was driving.. and he had to pull over twice to "walk it off" ..). It was nice tho- the sleep made the drive to Chicago shorter.. ![]()

It was on late last night and I caught it. Did you see the pizzeria in St. Louis that serves a whopping 28" pizza??

My sis and I were in Sikeston Saturday school shopping at the outlet mall. We thought since we drove an hour to get there we would reward ourselves with Lambert's. Unfortunately this was the weekend for the Sikeston Jaycee Boothill Rodeo and everyone had the same idea. The wait was three hours and it was HOT! So, we scratched those plans. Maybe when it cools off.

It's 260 miles from Branson to Sikeston - Sikeston is in the Missouri Bootheel, about 130 miles from Memphis.

A couple years ago I went home for a re-union, and my cousin from STL and I flew out Spirit of St. Louis airport down to the Sikeston Lambert's. I had never been to one, and he raved about it, so off we go. Nice flight down, and they came to the airport to pick us up which I thought was great.
What a fun place! It was everything I'd been told. As I remember, we both had BBQ pork steaks, and they were really good. All the beans and black-eyed peas you want, (servers were walking up and down the aisles with big ol' bowls of 'em) Of course, the "Throwed rolls" were a hit! If I'm not mistaken, we had some molasses to go with them. We both nearly crawled out of the place, we were so full! I will look forward to going back.
