My husband and I just returned yesterday from a short vacation to Eureka Springs and Branson. We've been to ES many times and stayed in many different cottages. This was our 20th wedding anniversary so we were looking for a really fabulous place to stay and I think we found it! We stayed at the Kingfisher cottage at Lake Lucerne, just minutes from downtown but very secluded. The exterior and entrance didn't look all that promising, but the interior of our cottage was wonderful. We paid $139. per night for the one bedroom (you can use additional bedrooms for an extra charge). The cottage has 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, a living area, sitting area, full kitchen, 2 fireplaces and a cedar lined jacuzzi room (sorry - tub is a little crowded for 2). The decor is comfortable and unique - lots of framed pictures of Lake Lucerne in it's heyday. There is a nice deck with a gas grill as well. Down the hill is a small lake with a little gazebo, lots of ducks and geese which we fed lettuce to. Kids and pets are welcome in the cottage too according to the journal there!! Here are a few photos: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Funny thing about the old postcard. We arrived at the cottage a bit after 4:00 on a Tuesday and we SHOULD have been concerned that things were under control because we came home to a new kitten thanks to my daughter who was watching things while we were gone! LOL Can't wait to go back to the Kingfisher! Hope to take another couple with us on our next visit. Since we have been to ES many times, we've done all the touristy things already. Once again I can recommend Bubba's barbeque for casual dining. We also tried Cafe Soleil for the first time. My husband loved his entree - a pesto sauce on angel hair pasta. I had a pasta with red sauce which was a bit sweet for my taste, wished I had went for the alfredo pasta with chicken. Nice little place with some unusual and healthy items on the menu. We also tried the Little Baking Company for breakfast the day we left. They have some yummy looking items in the case. We both ordered breakfast sandwiches which were good, but I wished I had tried a pastry instead. Definatly worth a visit during your stay in Eureka Springs. To read my review of Branson shows, check that board. I'll post pictures there as well. |

I have been wanting to stay in Eureka Springs and mess around the town but have never got around to it. I always wanted to stay in the Cresent Hotel (maybe a haunted room) just for the fun. Maybe this year. I have been wanting to go to the Passion play. The last time was when I was in High School with my church and we are having my 25 year reunion next week. So it has been a while.
I enjoyed your pictures. Thanks. |

Thanks for looking at my review and thanks for the anniversary wishes!
I should have included the website in my original post. http://www.historiccottages.com/ They also have cottages in town and a B & B. I just noticed there are some positive reviews on Tripadvisor too. |
