Did you see the Duttons on America's Got Talent?

They were one of the first contestants. Piers, of course, buzzed them but they got voted through to next round. The crowd loved them.

This is very exciting!
And very good for Branson...all that National Exposure.

Sharon Osborne was much nicer than I had expected.

Loved them.
They are so good.....very talented...each one individually could be a star, and collectively they are just wonderful.

I felt tho that they were made fun of, and that hurt my feelings.

(aren't they all so good looking?)

Next week's show is L.A. auditions

so the Duttons won't appear again on that one.

Actually, the show was quite entertaining. Lots of variety, some silly acts, some awful, and some quite good. Very much like American Idol in that respect. No word on when the finals start.

I dont watch that show but I have a question.
The Duttons have their own show, own theater in town...why would they need to go to a TV show and attempt to win a prize?
Is there something I am missing? I thought this was a talent show??

The PRIZE is one million dollars!

ok. BUT..they are already PROFESSIONALS, with their own theater and all that good stuff. How can the producers let them on a show when they already have their OWN show.
I dont get it and I think it is kind of cheesy on their part to take away from the other "undiscovered" talent.
That is kind of like saying Garth Brooks is going to be on this show because he needs a new addition to his house and if he wins, he gets the cash.

Well, it is a talent show...but it doesn't seem to be just for amateurs. I wondered about this, last year. But, then I realized that almost all of the "good acts" are or have been performing, professionally...somewhere at some time. I guess when you get someone good enough to compete in a televised competition, you'd expect that they'd be performing somewhere else.

When watching the show, it's obvious that most of these acts are in other shows...of some kind or other. Last night they had a "human slinky". He was from Orlando, Florida. It was just obvious that this guy does his routine, somewhere in Orlando. Even Bianca Ryan, the 11-year old girl who won last year's million dollars, had performed professionally.

I agree. Even though I agreed with everything he said to that little girl who tried to imitate Bianca Ryan, he didn't have to say it to her...so bluntly. I told DH that I think Sharon will put him in his place, this season. He seemed to be a little bit nicer to the kids, at the end of the show.

That one little girl (the cheerleader), was a trooper. I agreed that her routine was not what the show was about...but, she stood on that stage for God knows how long, and never shed a tear. I don't think the mother "pushed" the little girl into it, because I know that its almost every little girl's dream to be a cheerleader. BUT, I think the mother should have sat the little girl down and said, "Honey, you're very good at what you do...but that's not what this show is looking for". But, Piers shouldn't have bashed the mother on national TV, right there in front of the little girl.
