Exclamation Free Speech Threatened...

My letter to Ms. Emerson, my Representative:
*******
I strongly oppose H.R. 2093 and any efforts to impose regulations on grassroots lobbying. This is a violation of my freedom of speech and of my right to petition the government. The Senate has rejected similar legislation, and I urge you to oppose any attempts to add H.R. 2093, or similar language, to any lobbying reform bill.

The reporting requirements and penalties that may be imposed will hamper my ability to contact my elected officials. I rely on trusted and responsible organizations and coalitions that I have joined voluntarily to learn about issues that are important to me and my family, so that I can convey my opinions to the legislators who have been elected to represent my interests in Washington. Congress should encourage discourse between individual Americans and their elected representatives, not erect roadblocks to communication.

If these regulations go through, they will only serve to insulate Washington further from public opinion and enhance the influence of the special interests and their well-heeled lobbyists inside the Beltway. Do not use this opportunity to suppress the voices of your constituents.

I ask that you reject H.R. 2093 and any effort to regulate grassroots lobbying.

*******
Please contact your Representative, if you value the ability to petition the Gov't on your own behalf, or the behalf of your community....we are regulated out the *ss already, we need to start standing up and telling them to stop it.

I do not believe Freedom to Petition the Gov't is a partisan issue.
This ''Government vs Citizen'' stuff, is getting to be a big issue, and only we can stand up for our rights.

However, if we don't say anything, those words we didn't say might be regulated right out of our vocabulary.

Tell Washington to get over the need to ''rule'' us.
We need to communicate with them, and they cannot stand the heat?

Speak up and do it now.
