Wonder why a Monday was chosen for this Show?
The audience might be bigger on a weekend. |

I was wondering the same thing...had it been a weekend...we would probably have tried to come over.

advance tickets are cheaper
On Monday, Feb. 12 at 7 p.m., the 13th Annual Hot Winter Fun Big Show will be the very first event held at the new RFD-TV Theatre in Branson. Nowhere else can visitors sample such a wide variety of shows and performers in one action-packed evening. The Annual Big Show, now even bigger and better in the comfortable 2,000 seat theatre, features segments of numerous shows that are open during the winter months of January, February, and March – and throughout the entire year in Branson. Tickets for the Big Show are currently on sale and can be purchased by calling Branson Tourism Center at (417) 334-4400.
Featured shows in 2007 include Jim Stafford, Legends In Concert, SIX, Comedy Jamboree, Magnificent 7, The Legendary Tops and Temps, and From Patsy to Present. Advance tickets are $25 + tax for regular seating and $30 + tax for VIP seating. Tickets on the day of the show are $27 + tax for regular seating and $32 + tax for VIP seating. RFD-TV, the nation’s only 24-hour television network devoted to serving the needs and interests of rural America, are the new owners of the former Ray Stevens Theatre, and will be taping the entire evening's performances for later broadcast to over 30 million homes nationwide, the first ever national television broadcast of the Hot Winter Fun Big Show. Patrick Gottsch, President & CEO of RFD-TV, says his network is proud to host this event on behalf of the Branson community. The theatre will have its official opening in March 2007, and will provide a base to showcase the popular line-up of family-oriented entertainment shows and acts as seen each week on RFD-TV, as well as featuring music headliners live on stage and live television tapings. Hot Winter Fun was officially organized in 1994 as a way to offer guests a year-round vacation experience. Ross Summers, president and CEO of the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Visitors Bureau said, “Over the past 13 years, visitor numbers have steadily increased during the winter months.” The Branson Chamber/CVB, the City of Branson, and area businesses and community members sponsor Hot Winter Fun promotions such as the Big Show. The cooperative marketing program is designed to attract visitors to the Branson/Lakes Area throughout the year – especially during January, February, and March. For more information about Hot Winter Fun, the Big Show or the Branson/Lakes Area, call 888-339-4949 or log onto www.hotwinterfun.org or www.explorebranson.com |

I just got home from the show. Half-way decent crowd -- the whole lower level of the theatre was pretty well filled and there was a good number of people in the balcony level. I missed the first hour of the show -- had some other business I had to attend to -- but heard that Six had a great response. (Dang, they're the ones I'd most like to have seen!!) They announced that they will be using their filming from tonight for 3 1-hour specials on RFD-TV. Also announced for those in this area on Suddenlink that RFD-TV will be added to the Suddenlink line-up in the next few weeks. It was really great to see Red, Hot & Blue back on the Branson scene -- this is a great bunch of singer/dancers! Really enjoyed much of the show. Interesting to see that Doug Gabriel is now appearing with the Branson Brothers in the evenings at Bart Rockett's theatre. And was surprisingly impressed with the magic of both Taylor Reed and Justin Flom. I'm adding those two shows to my "must check-out" list for this season. All-in-all, a pleasant evening.
