Wedding Chapels

I have a nephew who, along with his fiancee, is wanting to plan a wedding this summer in Eureka Springs. Wondering what experiences, good and bad, anyone has had with wedding chapels there. If you (or someone you know personally) has an experience, let us hear about it. Or if you know someplace that has good reputation, tell us about it too. Thanks.

One of the most beautiful places in Eureka is Thorncrown Chapel. I don't know what would need to be done about reserving, etc., but it is something I would definitely check out. You might also go to www.eurekasprings.com and what is happening and other places down there. They also have a forum called the Front Porch and you might be able to ask there as well.

Almost five years ago, DH and I were married in Eureka Springs. We honeymooned and had our wedding at Treehouse Cottages.

It is absolutely beautiful. Each treehouse is a separate cottage. We had a little kitchen, a deck, a fireplace, a jacuzzi, and a bridge leading to the cottage.

We had our ceremony in their garden. Patsy (the owner) arranged for the Minister, the cake, the champagne, and the flowers...for a nominal fee. We chose this option but she will let you choose your own, if you want to. Each cottage had a VCR (might be DVD now), with free rental movies in the office.

It's located across from Bubba's BBQ...which is VERY good. I read that they have built some more cottages, though, that I believe are in another location.

Even if you don't want to have the ceremony in their garden, it's a great place to stay.

The Thorncrown Chapel is one of the most serene and beautiful places I have ever seen.It was designed by one of the greatest architects of this era. My son and his wife was wed there in Dec, 05.
I Highly reccomend it. Cost depends on how elaborate you want. They provide the flowers, minister , organist singer, and any other provisions you want. It will be an experience and memory never forgotten.
It is located in the woods about four miles west of Eureka just off Hiway 62.

There are some other things to consider here that no one has mentioned...

How much $$$ do they or you have to spend on this blessed event, and what weekend are you planning it compared to what is going on in Eureka that weekend. Check out the calendar of events on www.eurekasprings.com and make sure it's not a big festival weekend or you might be out of luck with the bigger places.

Once you have narrowed it down to a price range, then pick 3 or 4 of your favorites, then call to see what availabilities they have, out of that 4 there may only be two that are available for your particular date.

Just some things to consider.

Tom

Wedding is over! Was the end of May. They chose to have it at Blue Spring, in the gazebo overlooking a pool of water. The setting was beautiful and have some really neat outdoor pictures. The one of her coming down all those steps in her white gown is breathtaking!
