Six -- Something VERY Different

I was personally invited to attend the inaugural show of a Six yesterday afternoon. It is the new 2pm show in the Hughes Brothers Theatre. I have to admit, I was withholding judgement, but was somewhat skeptical as to whether or not this show would live up to what I'd been hearing. Six is a group of six real brothers, the Knudsens, who sing totally live, accapella, music. To sum it up...these guys were just phenomenal! Their harmonies are impeccable, their sound is fresh, the entertainment value is sky-high! I was watching and listening to the crowd reaction...which, by the way, was not any where near all invited personally as I was -- their "VIP" show was this afternoon...and was very impressed with how much the audience was not only enjoying themselves but also interacting with the guys on stage. All in all, this is a marvelous show, a real "breath-of-fresh-air" for Branson...and my second favorite new show in Branson! I heartily recommend you all check out this show!

Sounds like a great show. I'm going to have to put it on our list for next year.

I love accapella harmony! I'm putting this place on the top of the list for shows I'm going to drag my dh to this winter!

A 2:00 show will fit into our schedule better than a morning or night show- since we usually don't stay overnight, we could do a 2:00 show, and not have to get up early, or stay up late to get home.

Thanks for the info Cutie!

A little bit of everything...including some old standards, show tunes, Motown, Beach Boys, Enrique, Gospel, patriotic, and the second half was mostly Christmas.

What's the Grand Country Friday night show? I'm assuming it's at Grand Country (but we all know what assuming usually gets you!) - is it a Grand Country show, or a show case of shows, or what?

Every Friday night at 11:00 p.m. KRZK radio airs a live, one hour broadcast from the Grand Country Music Hall. The format of the show is usually the same. Mike Patrick and Jamie Haage host the show. Callie Chambliss does one number. New South does one or two. There are two different guest artists or groups from various Branson shows. Each usually does two or three numbers. There is often an instrumental number by the Grand Band and the show ends with New South returning to do a gospel number.

Tickets are $15, but there is almost always a "radio special" that allows you to get a ticket for $7. You can also get this deal with a ticket stub from the Grand Jubilee.

We seldom miss the show. There is always something different and we get to sample various Branson talent. In is not unusual for us to decide to see a show because of what we have experienced at the radio show.

We just want to second everything that bransoncutie said about Six. The energy and harmonies are outstanding. We really liked the Frankie Valli, Beach Boys, and Motown segments. They did one of the best versions of "Amazing Grace" we have ever heard.

The Christmas music in the second half was also great.

It is hard to believe that these six men can carry the entire show by themselves and still maintain the energy levels that they did.

It was a great show and we will want to see it again.

buy ahead of time???

Thank you soooo much for this review and the link - I have just spent a deligtful few minutes watching the video and listening to SIX full length songs on the website - they are indeed wonderful!

We will be arriving Thanksgiving morning - do you think we can take our chances of getting tickets at the 2 for 1 booth - or will that be risky - as I "hear" this will be the busiest weekend of the year - we will be leaving Sunday morning.

We just decided yesterday to go to Branson so have lodging but no show tickets.

Thanks! This forum is wonderful!

SIX performed at the Branson Business Connection yesterday. They were a lot of fun to watch. All six brothers are very animated entertainers. Good friendly guys too.
