Mannheim Steamroller Grand Palace Details

Official Press Release Courtesey of the Branson Courier:

Syncor Entertainment, Inc. and Sound Trak, Inc. are proud to announce that The Christmas Music of Mannheim Steamroller by Creator Chip Davis will be presented at the beautiful Grand Palace Theatre in Branson, MO, November 3 - December 9, 2006.

The Christmas music of Mannheim Steamroller is a multimedia extravaganza of grandiose proportion. The show includes the famous Mannheim videos, multimedia images, synchronized lighting, special effects and, of course the world-renowned music of Mannheim Steamroller. The musical performers are 14 in number, performing the driving Steamroller rhythms and electronic wizardry all accompanied by orchestral instrumentation.

Davis describes Mannheim Steamroller’s style of music as "18th Century classical rock’n’roll." He says, "I don't believe in all-acoustic or all-electronic, all-digital or all-analog. My place is where they meet."

"We are extremely excited to present Chip’s specially designed Grand Palace creation for the for the 2006 Christmas season. We look forward to a long relationship," says Rob Hall, President of Syncor Entertainment, Inc., whose company has a long history of providing Branson, Missouri with the some of the biggest and most elaborate productions shows and concerts.

Mannheim Steamroller has crossed the 27 million mark in Christmas CD and video sales and is the number one selling Christmas artist of all time. Over his career, Chip Davis has sold more than 36 million albums.

"It's very exciting to have talent of this caliber for an extended run and expose the Branson marketplace to this genre of music, both contemporary and traditional at the same time," Hall continues.

Well, I guess that answers all the questions then. Not really Mannheim Steamroller but a specialized production created just for the Grand Palace. It sounds really cool though, Count me in. If Chip himself created this show just for The Grand Palace hopefully he will have had a hand in choosing all the musicians so it should be top notch. Puts me in the Christmas spirit already, I can almost smell the fake snow in the air

I guess I must be one of the very few people around who had never heard of Mannheim Steamroller before it was rumored they were going to have something to do with Ray Stevens Theater. I still don't know who or what they are other than what has been said on this board. Don't figure I will be going to see the show.

nohona, I'm sure you have heard them - at Christmas time their music is heard EVERYWHERE! It is purely instrumental - just a little bit of singing on a few songs. I enjoy having their music on while I decorate the tree, trimming the house, having people over.......you name it, I have a MS CD for every occasion during the Holidays! I have always wanted to see them (I only live an hour from Omaha where they are based out of), but the only local concert they do is on the day after Christmas. I'm way to busy hitting the sales that day I wish they did one before Christmas. The train ride at SDC - they play Mannheim while the Christmas story is being told. Never fails to bring me to tears! I love that part of SDC. That and the huge tree at the front that lights up to the songs! Carole of the Bells ROCKS on that tree!!

I purchased their original, first run Christmas CD , before they were even popular. I have always played it every Christmas, but I won't attend a show that Chip and the gang are not in. I don't want 'fakes'. The original group was fantastic. It's really too bad they did this.

I TRULY enjoyed every single "fake" Radio City Rockettes show I went to every Christmas season at the Grand Palace, and I expect this "fake" Mannheim Steamroller to be no less impressive!
