Good Morning Forum. A really good repeat customer of ours was thinking of moving to Branson and opening a Horse friendly campgrounds near Branson. He wanted me to post to find out if there was much interest, or if many of the forum were horseman. Many cowboys, or horseman, travel with their horses and only vacation where they are able to stay with horse facilities.
Sounded like a good idea being able to horseback ride the Ozark mountains during the day and catch the shows at night. That was reason for survey. Thanks and have a great day.

We asked one of our church people that travel all over with their horses and they thought that was a great idea. And even to get the word out for people going through to another destination because long hauls are not good. Just thought I would pass that info. on for what it's worth.

i've got a business idea for you. I don't know if it would work in the Ozark hills but it's worked great for some people in Western Oklahoma. usually out here it's sponsored by a town or an organization looking to raise funds.

they're called trail rides or in some cases trail drives. the only difference is that the trail drive will throw in a couple hundred cows and let the "cowboys" pretend to drive them, usually there's more cowboys than there are cows so it's not much of a drive really, just adds to the setting I guess.

what it consists of is taking a large group of these cowboys on an extende trail ride and campout, anywhere from overnight to 3 or 4 nights, provide food, and evening entertainment..... music .... dances..... rodeo's.....

they had one that ended with a parade in the area last summer, went to the parade and I bet there was at least 500 people that had paid a pretty good sum of money to sleep out, ride their horses. they had came from all over the country and from Canada, believe they announced they had one or two from Europe even. they'll bring their own horses, some will have large wagons and mules, the sponsors will provide wagons and drivers for those that don't have their own.

there's a real big one that ends in Guymon Oklahoma... tell your friends to do a search for Guymons horse boarding stables, I've seen advertisements in my area for camping- motels-stables, might give them some ideas.

I do not own horses, but all my neighbors do.

We live in the middle of ''trail ride'' country, where folks come from all over to the ''camp grounds'' and meet and party and ride.

During the summer here, it is bumper to bumper horse trailers, moving south, to the Bluegrass Festivals, and Trailrides.

They have competitions and ''pretty horse'' contests, and great fun.

I think Branson, might benefit with a campground, outside the city, where one could camp, board a horse, and then go see a show........maybe even show horses.....

Im sure horse haulers would not like to be stuck in ''76'' traffic, but with the high road and other in-roads, there must be some place close that could be turned into a real ''dude ranch'' for ''real cowboys and cowgirls''.

We own two horses that were luckily not injured in last September's Tornado. Unfortunately, we had to move to the other end of the county and leave them on my grandparent's place. They have since acquired a lovable donkey I wish I had. My sister also has two horses I help take care of from time to time. Scotty is a gentle old kids horse, but Holly has some spunk. Her and I don't get along and I am trying to talk my sister into selling her to someone a little more experienced.
