Great Disney Deal If Interested

Just thought I would share on the deal we got on our upcoming trip to Walt Disney World. If you go sometime between August 15th through September 30th and buy a package (on site resort and park tickets) you can get the dining plan for free! The dining plan includes 1-counter service meal (includes entree, dessert and drink) per day, 1-snack per day and 1-table service meal per day (includes appetizer, meal, dessert, tax and tip). I figured this deal is saving my husband and I about $650.00. We won't be coming home hungry. You must book this deal by 6/25/06. Visit http://www.waltdisneyworld.com for all the details.

Oh, and if you every need to plan a trip please visit http://www.yourmagicaljourneys.com. They do not charge anything and they do all the work for you. They are really great to work with. They have helped us save so much on our trip.

Friends of mine were down there at the very same time in October that we were for 10 days last year. Only we stayed offsite using a $30/night priceline hotel as close as you could get to the maingate without being on property, and they stayed at a Disney value resort and were on the free dining plan. They said it was actually too much food. Hard for me to imagine because I absolutely LOVE most of the Disney restaurants! (California Grill is my favorite!!!) That is a great deal to get the free dining plan since they can get pretty pricey.

Are you familiar with the websites that show the menues for all the different restaurants there? They really help in sort of planning the trip.

Yes, I am aware of the websites. When we originally started planning we were just going to do mostly just the counter service food so this is going to be a real treat. I have never eaten at any of the table service places before. This is my first trip in 12 years and my husbands first trip. We have been looking at all the menus of the places we have reservations for and can't believe how much one meal will be. We never get appetizers and desserts and now we each get one. We also have tickets to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party for the last night we are there. I can't wait. If only September will get here.

Enjoy it!!! I think California Grill actually takes up 2 of your meal credits, but if you're looking for a very special night, I highly recommend it. Plus it's so fun to watch the fireworks spectacular from up there. They pipe the fireworks music into the restaurant too.

Another favorite of mine, and totally different from the grill is the Whispering Canyone Cafe at Wilderness Lodge. It's a fun spot for lunch and very entertaining if you get a waiter that interacts very well. Be sure to ask for "Ketchup" and a "Tall" glass of water or ice tea ... or even a small glass. Fun! Another fun place like that is the 50's diner at the MGM Disney Studios theme park. Be sure to clean your plate, or the whole house will find out about it.

The Polynesian Hotel has a great all you can eat type meal served at the table at their Ohana restaurant, and Boma's at the Animal Kingdom Lodge is a great buffet with WONDERFUL desserts!

You're in for a great time! I've been to Disney 5 times in the last 6 years. For any of the Disney restaurants, and especially CA Grill, it's advisable to make reservations now as soon as you can.

Another fun and free thing to do is to watch the nightly electrical water parade that sails around after 9 PM by the resorts on the lagoon. It's not advertised much, but if you're staying on site, they'll be able to give you the schedule.

Thanks for all the info. I made all of our ADR's at the 180 day mark (at 111 day mark today!) since they were offering the free dining. I knew they would be filling up fast. We are going to 50's Prime Time.

Another WONDERFUL place to go eat is at the Grand Floridian at Narcoossee's. It is another great place to watch the fireworks and have a wonderful meal. I will be spending my first anniversary there with my husband in about 2 or 3 weeks. I am so excited. I usually go to Disney about once a year, but have been lucky the last couple years to go twice a year. We are also on the dining package again for next month. I love being on the Dining package. It is well worth the 2 credits for this restaurant though.
My meal always consists of Filet Mignion, Ceaser Salad, Iced Tea, and Almond Crusted Cheesecake.
