Internet Service in Branson

Coming to Branson later this month (unless it snows ) and I am going to be in need of a little internet time. I'm not bringing a laptop so I would need an internet cafe or public library.
Anyone have any ideas?? Thanks

The local library downtown offers online access at $3 per half hour.

The public library charges for Internet usage? Or is it not a public library?

I wondered about that at the library too. We were in Florida last winter and the local library there didn't charge for internet use, though they limited the time you could be on a computer. Maybe the Branson library had to do that though because all the tourists were taking up the computers and locals couldnt' get to them. Maybe they'll let you use it for nothing if you show a library card from your home library.

I work in a public library and our Internet usage is free to residents and non-residents. But like you said with Branson being a tourist destination perhaps they had to start charging non-residents to use their computers.

There is an internet cafe (Click & Sip, maybe) at the intersection of Green Mountain Drive and Gretna. It is right next to the Subway. I think it was $5 for a half hour. I used it twice and found it easy to use and the person working the counter was friendly. Plan to use it again this year!

Thanks everybody for the responses. I ought to be able to get the job done with those suggestions.
It's a sin how some of us (like me) are tied to these pesky computers

For all of you that have wireless capability, a new system is being installed in Branson which will allow wireless internet access anywhere within 60 miles of
Branson. Will let you know more details as I find out.

Oooh, Loves2Fish, that's great news. My dh has a wireless laptop, which we'll be bringing for downloading pictures and backing them up, but if we could access the internet from it, too, that would be great!

That is exciting! Springfield has free Wi-Fi hotspots all downtown and is extremely easy to log on with a laptop. I've been hoping Branson would follow suit.

Please keep us posted!

60 miles worth is a huge undertaking, but if the price is right and the speed is decent you guys will be in internet heaven.

(note to self) That's one more reason to move to Branson

Especially in these hills and considering that there is a whole lot of NOTHING East of Branson for 60 miles. I don't see that happening. Once you get about 20 mi away from Branson in any direction but North you are in extremely low population density countryside that is very rugged terrain. There are places that still have no electricity down here. And now they're gonna have wi-fi? Somehow I think that's an exaggeration.

I feel like I've answered the question several times, perhaps, someone else will find this.

There are a number of hotspots throughout Branson. You can easily hack a line with a laptop at about 30% of the strip. Trolling, I've been able to send a critical business e-mail with little problem. This certainly wasn't the case a year ago. Click and sip has terminals, wireless and ethernet , so you can access in the format of your choosing.

Free Internet Access
30% of Hotels (Minimum and this number is rising)
Panera formerly known as St.Louis Bread Company
Starbucks (this is new) on 76 Music City Center

There are more and more coming. Starbucks has "pay for use" computers as well.

Regards,
