Branson was booming last night!

I decided that since I really didn't have anything to do last night that I would drive to Branson and see again the Hot Rod's and Hairdo's show at Silver Dollar City. I arrived around 5:00 and went and got something to eat in the new restaurant they have this year called the Wagon Works Grill. I had a smoked turkey chipolte wrap. It was yummy!! In addition to the turkey wrap they also have a bbq wrap, a veggie wrap, and I don't remember what the other one was. They also have other food as well. The restaurant has different period decorations everywhere that looks great.

Hot Rod's and Hairdo's had a pretty good crowd for being a Thursday night. I posted earlier in my first review of the show that I thought the sound was too loud so this time I sat farther back and the sound was just right. I encourage those going to SDC to take advantage of this FREE evening of entertainment. For those that do not know anything about this show, it is a show that is completely 50's and 60's music. The show contains sets, costumes, comedy, singers, and dancers. It begins at 7:00 and will last for little over 90 minutes. It is WELL WORTH your time!

After the show was over I headed down to Branson just to look around and enjoy all the people. For a Thursday night the place was happening! I arrived while the shows were in session so it gave me a chance to go and check some of them out to see crowd numbers. I don't think Ray Stevens could fit one more car in his parking lot! ALL of the golf, bumper boats and race car places were hopping. The safari golf place ( I don't know what the place is really called) across from the golf place with the airplane, LOL even had several people there and I hadn't seen that in a while. The traffic was at a standstill at about the time the shows were letting out, I probably only moved two car lengths in 30 mins. there by the Grand Palace. I enjoy rolling my window down and listening to everyone else play their radios and visit while going down the strip. Everything looked to be in full swing!

Sounds like you had a good time. We didn't get a chance to see the Hot Rods and Hairdo's show when we went to SDC. We had a show that night. We want to see it though. It sounds really good.

I love going down the strip with my windows rolled down listening to the radio when all the shows are getting out. Branson is the only place I don't mind sitting in traffic. LOL

OkieAnon,

It is not a new structure they have built but rather they have redone an exisiting restaurant and given it a new name. It is on the far side of Main Street just as you come up that STEEP hill it is there on your left. I think it used to be called something like Garden Grill or something like that I can't remember. It is the place where the grill is out front.

Sounds like a fun Thursday evening. I like when we do things like that, spur of the moment
Try pushing a double stroller up that STEEP hill in the middle of summer

I almost forgot.....I usually have Starbucks while out driving the strip but this time I opted for a Baskin Robbin's Blast instead. It has ice cream in it, it was very good! The Baskin Robbins for those that don't know is inside the Imax Entertainment Complex.

Yes Suse.

Just was down at the Branson Landing offices yesterday, and their model shows the HRC next to Bass Pro.
However, as you know Suse, it might be hot air....lol

Thanks for the info

I have a friend who's hobby is going to all the Hard Rocks. She plans her vacation by where they are.
Maybe most people are that fanatical, but a Hard Rock Cafe would be a good draw.

How exciting Gidgetmidget! When my family and I go on vacation we always tend to go to restaurants like this. When I was in Chicago earlier this summer we went to Rainforest Cafe. I would love to see one of these here as well. In Myrtle Beach we went to Nascar Cafe. I don't guess you saw any space for a Ripley's Aquarium did you? I also think that would go over really well here. Let us know what else you saw when looking at the model.

Thank You,

Jerm,

There was also Belk listed and a Giant pizza place that will have video games and arcade stuff.

They are also modeling a "HUGE" water fountain after the Venetian casino in Las Vegas.

There is also a few condos that are being built that you would be interested in buying Jerm. Only 300-500 thousand per unit....lol We are to poor...lol

Go get em while they last.
