my LB and I have been to the Catfish Hole here in NWA (Fayetteville) several times. The catfish is always good, as is the pickle relish and coleslaw. LB is not a catfish fan but she does like their shrimp and, on occasion, the chicken strips. She also likes the hush puppies. They would be REALLY good if they'd stop putting sugar in them. (IMHO)

We ate at the Wheelhouse this week as my son wanted catfish. The reviews were all over the place, but it was a restaurant we hadn't tried, so gave it a shot. It is a buffet. The catfish was fantastic!!! Even my very picky husband enjoyed it! It is lightly battered and not overly seasoned with a nice crispness and fish was tender. The fried shrimp, pan fried chicken, and boneless chicken were also very good. The salad bar didn't have a lot to it, but had the basics. They also had several sides that were ok.... corn on the cob, mashed potatoes/gravy, fried okra, pasta salads, etc. Nothing to write home about. Ha! The dessert bar was just ice cream and maybe some cinnamon rolls, but I didn't get to that. The service was good... our waitress was friendly and kept our drinks filled and table cleared. If I was hungry for catfish, I'd definitely go back and make it an all I can eat catfish, shrimp, and chicken meal. :-)
