The Winter Olympics

In less than a month, the 2018 Winter Olympic Games kick off in PyeongChang, South Korea. Starting with the Opening Ceremonies on Feb. 9, 2018.

"For first time ever, NBC will air events live from the PyeongChang games across all time zones in primetime, as well as daytime and late-night coverage.
If you don’t have a TV, there will be more live-streaming for these Olympic Games than ever before.
NBC will share a full detailed live-streaming schedule when the games begin."

The Downhill, the slalom, the ski jumping. The luge, and bobsled. All so exciting. Too bad they could never get barrel jumping in the Olympics. Oh well, they have the ever exciting curling!

I would think the location would add to the tensions of completing.
A friend travelling to the Philippines told me she had an 8 hour layover in South Korea and she was anxious about spending time there with the current North Korean situation.
There are always location and historical segments on the Host Country so that should be very enlightening. All and all, this should be an interesting Olympics.

You're just ticked there's no ice fishing.

I missed the last 2 Olympics, Dish and our local station got into a fight and pulled the plug on them. there was some minor stuff on some of the cable stations but was kind of hard to get into it.

There Is No Fish There
One cold Winter day, a blonde decides she wants to take up ice fishing. When she gets to the pond, she begins to cut a hole in the ice. As she does, she hears a voice. "There's no fish there...".
Puzzled, the blonde picks up her stuff and cuts another hole a few feet away. Again, she hears the voice. "There's no fish there..."
The blonde is confused, but still determined. About 10 feet away, she begins to cut another ice hole. "There's no fish there...", she hears.
She immediately turns her head to the sky and says, "Is that you, God?"

"NO! IT'S THE MANAGER OF THE ICE-SKATING RINK! THERE'S NO FISH THERE!

I am glad it is about Winter Olympics time.

There are many of the events that I do not particularly care for but I love the ice skating, gymnastics, opening and closing ceremonies. The other events I watch mainly to see how the USA does.

Also, gives this sporting junky something to watch between football season and baseball season.

how about the investigative news report on NBC yesterday, Figure Skating is fixed next up, ice is cold.

I thought everyone knew figure skating was crooked, joking aside though the story was interesting, they had some numbers cruncher that showed how much higher the scores were for skaters from the judges home country's. they also showed how a Russian judge would signal another judge what score to give by moving his leg. Russia and US were to of the biggest offenders.

I'm excited to see how our broom team does in curling this year.

I like the timed events, the downhill skiing, speed skating, stuff like that.
