Walking

Looking for some great places to walk in the mornings during the summer. It could be a trail, road, or walkway. I need a place to walk off all the food I'll be consuming!

Table Rock State Park Lakeshore Trail.
Starts at Dewey Short and ends near or at the marina. About 4.4 miles round trip. Hard surface, smallish inclines, and lots to see.
After you've walked off that food, you can fill up again at Danna's which is on the docks. Nice store there as well.

If you need a break part way through, you can stop at the Branson Belle shops which are right near the trail.

One of our family's favorite trails that's not already mentioned is the Ruth and Paul Henning conservation area.

I highly recommend the Lakeside Forest Area across from the legends theater.

I walk there weekly. several trails and 330 steps down to the lake if your
in the mood to go down all those steps.

Henning conservation area. dewey short trail leads to a tower to look down on branson. other trails next to the overlook.

table rock lake and another good place is the Landing.

I second Lakeside wilderness. Beautiful view. You can probably see to arkansas from the overlook. It looks out over college of the Ozarks land and is several hundred feet above lake taneycomo. The stone steps were hand built in the 1930. Sadly the old stone house burned down recently. The lady who lived there lived to be over 100 and planted beautiful flowers. Her son lived there after her. He left all the land and property to the city. There should still be another small house at least 100 years old on the property and a large hand built stone wall. http://www.bransonparksandrecreation.com/page.php?id=16

This is a post that IMO, should have a sticky, to keep it at the top of the board, so everyone is aware of the hiking potential in the area. I've learned about new trails reading the post - and hope to get to make a new adventure in the near future.
