Review: Double E Burger & Ice Cream Shoppe

Not quite in Branson, it's about 15 minutes north in Highlandville.

Entrees
Burger: Bacon Cheeseburger was very good. If any complaints I would say a little dry, but I think I'm being a bit picky here. It was definitely as advertised (half pound), definitely hand made patty, not from frozen. The cheese and bacon were very good. Overall an excellent burger.

Chicken strips: We had a kids chicken strip meal, didn't try it myself, but they liked it, and they looked good.

Fries: Nice and crispy. They had some off the shelf cajun fry seasoning on the table which, while not exclusive to Double E, was very good on the fries.

Dessert
We had 3 fried pies (2 Apple, 1 Coconut) at our table, all with ice cream.
All three were EXCELLENT. I had a fried pie once before at Deno's in Branson, and the pies at Double E blow those away. It's not even close. They are BIG too. I didn't realize they were so big, could have easily shared one with someone else. $2.99 for a fried pie and single scoop of ice cream is a great deal.

Service
Service was very good, but slow. I can't knock them on the slow service because they do let you know it will be awhile. Both in person, and on their Facebook page they let you know that it will take a bit to get your food. So, even though it was slow, no complaints. Tip: If you plan on getting a fried pie, order it when your food first arrives, that way by the time you are finished, you won't be waiting very long for dessert.

Overall
I'd have to rate it excellent overall. Trying to think of a place to compare it to, and I'd have to say Billy Bob's Dairyland...but I'd rate Double E Burger a little higher overall.

Being as close to Branson as it is, I'm a little surprised that there aren't any reviews here.

Could you give me some directions coming from Branson. Sounds like a place we would like to try.

Take 65-N to the Missouri Ee Exit
Turn Left onto Ee
Follow that to Kentling Ave (about 3 miles)

Or if you are coming via 160, just follow that all the way to Kentling Ave (I'm guessing it's about 20 miles north of Branson West), and turn right on Kentling.

Once you turn right it's just about 1/4th mile or so.

Yes, they do! Glad you mentioned this, because I was going to do so and forgot. Great deal.

Fun place to eat. It reminds me off a old time burger joint. People are very nice and food is great.
