Party Decorations

Changing the color of the Tulle, would give you a pretty party decoration for any Holiday or Birthday.

Just Tulle and a embroidery hoop and some tying will make this...you could also use the old trick of making a wire coat hanger into a round circle for the base if you didn't want the expense of a big wooden embroidery hoop.

Strawberry Mice

You'll need:
Strawberries (for body)
Mini Chocolate Chips for nose
Shaved Almonds for ears
Black icing (small tube) for eyes
Red string licorice for tail

Directions:
First, twist off the green part of the strawberry.
Wash them, and then assemble your mice by use a small knife to pierce holes for ears, and tale.
The chocolate chip goes in pretty easy (with the pointed side facing in).

I like that this is a healthier version of Chocolate Mice made from chocolate covered cherries.

Rainbow Tie Dye Cake

Start by preparing a white cake mix.
Divide it into 6 bowls, and make each bowl a different rainbow color.

Line the bottom of two 9 inch cake pans with wax paper, and grease the sides.
Layer your cake batter in concentric circles.

Use about 3/4 of the bowl for your bottom color,
then use a little less of each color as you continue.
Layer your second cake pan in the opposite order.

My day care youngsters will love this cake.

They have been working on their primary colors so this hits just at the right time.

Thanks for sharing another great idea.

You're welcome, ShowGal...what about THIS one?

These are super simple to make:

Just add some food coloring to your favorite sugar cookie dough
Cut with a circle cutter (this one is 1 3/4" - 2" diameter)
Poke holes with a toothpick (make them a little bigger than you'd think they should be)
Use a smaller circle cutter to mark an inner circle (optional)
Bake
Then use bakers twine to sew them to card stock printed to look like vintage button cards.

Oh, I love this one.

What a fun thing for them to make and how proud they will be to give them to their moms.

I had some gals over one night last week and pulled up some of your ideas and shared the ideas with them. They couldn't believe someone could have that many really neat ideas. All left with notes about ones they wanted to try.

Thanks so much for sharing.

That's very sweet of you to say, Show Gal.
And here I thought I would be forever known as the person who brought the Kitty Litter Cake to 1b.

Ingredients:
1 (18 oz.) box spice or german chocolate cake mix
1 (18 oz.) box white cake mix
1 pkg. white sandwich cookies
1 large box vanilla instant pudding mix
12 small tootsie rolls
1 litter box (preferably a NEW one!)
1 plastic scoop
green food coloring

Preparation:
Prepare cake mixes and bake according to directions (any size pans).
Prepare pudding mix and chill until ready to assemble.
Crumble white sandwich cookies in small batches in blender, they tend to stick, so scrape often.
Set aside all but about 1/4 cup.
To the 1/4 cup cookie crumbs, add a few drops green food coloring and mix using a fork or shake in a jar.
When cakes are cooled to room temperature, crumble into a large bowl.
Toss with half the remaining white cookie crumbs and the chilled pudding.
You probably won’t need all of the pudding, mix with the cake and “feel” it, you don’t want it soggy, just moist; gently combine.
Put mixture into clean litter box.

Put three unwrapped Tootsie rolls in a microwave safe dish and heat until soft and pliable.
Shape ends so they are no longer blunt, curving slightly.
Repeat with 3 more Tootsie rolls and bury in mixture.
Sprinkle the other half of cookie crumbs over top.
Scatter the green cookie crumbs lightly over the top, this is supposed to look like the chlorophyll in kitty litter.
Heat remaining Tootsie Rolls, three at a time in the microwave until almost melted.
Scrape them on top of the cake and sprinkle with cookie crumbs.
Place the box on a newspaper and sprinkle a few of the cookie crumbs around.
Serve with a new pooper scooper.

I had actually forgotten about that! That's the most disgusting thing I've ever seen.

When I meet longtime Buddies for the first time, it's always mentioned.
Evidently many Buddies formed their opinion of me early on.

Oh, yes, completely delicious I would think, too.
But if its true that we eat with our eyes first...the cake might present a problem.

The original post I made about this cake several years ago included the photos of the stunned Guests at the party where the cake was ceremoniously brought out.
Disbelief, Confusion, then laughs.

I am thinking about getting a litter tray and scoop at a $1 Shop and making this cake for a Bake Sale...I doubt if it will sell readily, but it could attract some attention over to our table.

Apparently not because everything I hear about you is on a very positive note.

The conversation usually starts with......"How does she do all those things".
