Talking Snake skin.....

I just found a 4'+ long, complete dried snake skin, under a workbench in my garage!

Now, I wonder, how long was he there & how long does it take for a snake to shed his skin?!?!?!?!? The WHOLE THING, from eyeballs to tail tip was in 1 piece! I have to save it for my grandkids.......yuck!

I also wonder; WHERE IS HE NOW?!?!?!?!?

Couple of years ago we found a similar skin. Don't remember where he found it, but it grossed me out.! Don't know how you plan to preserve it, but this is what we did. Hubby found a 4" board a bit longer than the skin. Laid the skin on it and stuck straight pins thru to secure it. Our daughter used it in her classroom for a while and then we 'reinherited the darn thing'.....every once in a while when I'm rummaging around upstairs I happen to see that skin laying there on the floor. NEVER fails to scare me again!!!!!!

We also have a large hornet's nest that we removed from a tree. It is attached to a tree branch and some of the leaves are still on the branch. Every once in a while, we spray the nest good with hair spray or shellac. Seems to be preserving it pretty good as we've had it for several years now.

Hey don't forget to toss some shampoo up there occasionally, all that hairspray builds up in their hair and makes it hard to manage

You probably have a speckled king snake or blacksnake. If it's dried and not moist, the snake is probably long gone.

We think ours is a black snake. I know, a black snake is harmless, but I still don't like them.....Not gonna tell you what happened to a 5' one we found in our yard a couple of months ago!!!!!!!

I'll take a snake in the yard over moles or rats any day of the week....if you have the snake, you won't have the rodents

Now Ms_T, you think I'd wait around to decide what kind of snake it is!

Years ago my young Son about the age of 10, put a snake skin in one
of the kitchen drawers. Yes, he wanted to see what I did upon finding it!
He took off running after my discovery! Kids do the darndest things!
