Arrow Puppy Chow

9 cup Chex
1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup butter
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Put cereal in large bowl. Melt chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
Pour over Chex cereal, put into a large plastic bag with powdered sugar and shake well to coat.

Spread mixture evenly on wax paper and allow to cool.

Yummm...so easy to make.

YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

This sounds better than any puppy chow I have ever heard of.

Thanks for the recipe.

I just snacked on some this evening. I bought it already made at Sams. It is put out by Chex Mix. It is called Muddy Buddies. I think it is only there for a limited time though. (I could be wrong.) YUMMY!!!

Instead of chocolate chips, I add butterscotch chips. I love "Puppy Chow"...

Sounds like a good recipe, Lucyann.
Sort of like peanut butter bon bons but easier to make.

I have been using white chocolate chips and dried cranberries for my version of a sweet Chex Mix.
The Corn and the Rice Chex are gluten free.

It's not what I'd call a fancy looking treat. However, once you try it, it's hard to stop eating it. Very addictive!!

I love chocolate chips in everything but, have started adding butterscotch or peanut butter chips instead, just for a change.

Also, have mixed the kind of chips I put in items and it gives it a different, but good, taste.

around here, the kids eat the puppy chow as fast as I can make it!!

So, I don't make it too early or I have to make too many batches to have some for the holidays!!

Been years since I've made this, but made a batch today and then went out and picked up the 'fixins' to make another batch!

Thanks for the reminder of a good holiday snack!

Have always used a variation of this but since so many have said how good it is, am going to try it instead. Was a little concerned about the powdered sugar as we usually end up playing board games when we have company and don't know how the powdered sugar will do with the game. May need to serve little wetnaps for the fingers.

Puppy Chow is a tried and true Christmas gift... something that children can help make and really good when the kids have several Teachers to give to.

I think Puppy Chow would sell well at a benefit for an Animal Shelter.
I have seen some really cute dog stickers at craft stores.
