Stuffed French Toast Recipe

After our Branson church trip in 2007, I had mentioned that DH's aunt made French Toast that she had found at a Bed and Breakfast. They just gave me the recipe.

Stuffed French Toast

8 oz cream cheese
c pulverized almonds
1 tsp vanilla
1 loaf unsliced French bread

Mix the cream cheese, vanilla and almonds together. Slice the loaf of bread into 12 slices (about inch thick, slice each slice again about half way through to form a pocket). Place a tablespoonful of the cream cheese mixture into each pocket. In a medium bowl, mix.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
4 whole eggs
tsp vanilla
1 cup whipping cream
tsp cinnamon
Dip bread pockets in egg mixture briefly (DO NOT SOAK). Cook on griddle or skillet (lightly grease) and brown on both sides.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Serve with a sauce made of:
(1) 8 oz jar of peach jam
tsp cinnamon
tsp nutmeg
1 small can peaches, drained and chopped

Heat and serve over toast.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
NOTE: Toast can be served with pancake syrup also.
Had similar...but on raisin bread instead of french bread. It was served with maple syrup and a sprinkling of powdered sugar. Sinfully delicious!
This sounds so good! And looks delicious as well. I am copying this recipe. Once we move to Branson (6 more months!) we hope to have TONS of company and this recipe will be a great thing to make for our friends and family for breakfast before a fabulous day in Branson!
Thanks!
I am going to make this,
Because It is that time of year with the February Winter Weather Forecasts and the trips to the store to stock up on eggs, milk and bread!
