Trail of Lights, Festival of Lights, 57 museum

Festival of Lights (SOH expressway) - this was just down from Whispering Hills so we went before the group got there. Surprised to get a free Andy Williams Christmas CD because we were in the first 200. It's all light displays - 12 days of Christmas (a little tongue in cheek, kind of fun to figure it out), zoo animals, etc.

Trail of Lights (SOH) - Mostly large shadow box kind of depictions. Think it said about 2 1/2 miles? Winds down thru the little roads. Interesting but I like more lights. Free hot spiced cider or hot choc. after.

Inspiration Tower - It was suggested that we go at nite with the Christmas lights but our people were more interested in seeing the tree colors and landscape.

Dick Clark "57" Museum - Beautiful collection of cars and strolling down memory lane, enjoying it so much that I forgot to take pictures! DH didn't know there had been cars with record players under the dash.

Ralph Foster Museum at School of the Ozarks - So much to see here! We really breezed through it because we needed to get back to aunt and uncle.
Beverly Hillbillys truck

First time to go to the overlook there.

Hi Ford! Boy, I'm not sure how to advise you. If it's lights you want I would say no. We couldn't make it to Indian Point so maybe someone else can report on that.

One of the guys there said it was only played while stopped. But DH's uncle remembered these and said they were weighted so it wouldn't skip, of course those big ole boats rode pretty smooth.

If I had only one night, I'd opt for either Port of Kimberling in Kimberling City or Shepherd of the Hills' Trail of Lights.

This is from ole seagull:

There are three major Christmas Lighting Displays in the Branson Area in 2007, The Branson Area Festival of Lights, Trail of Lights at Shepherd of the Hills, and the Enchanted Forest at Indian Point.

It should be noted that The Port of Lights, formerly at Kimberly City, has been cancelled and the the location of the Branson Area Festival of Lights, formerly located off of Bee Creek Road has been moved to a new location. It will be a one way drive through with the entrance at the junction of Expressway Lane and the Shephered of the Hills Expressway. It will end near the junction of Roark Valley Road and Shepherd of the Hills Expressway.

Do you remember if this is the one that someone had a funny experience a year or two ago - maybe trying to get back into the wrong van, not sure?

Neat review..and I didn't know they had those record players in a car...but then that is after my ''youth'' probably....my time was 55-60, when I was really paying attention to cool stuff...........after that it had to be modern and cheap..........roflol.

We had a 55 Fairlain Ford and a 57 Chevy Bel Aire (I think that is what they were)...........then I left home and had rattle traps, cause groceries came first...hehehe.

DH says all of those cars were "57"s. You can see that this one was a Chrysler but can't remember what the other one was.

I believe that was Indian Point last year when a board buddy was trying to get in the wrong vehicle. Actually dh & I were talking about this the other day, we still get a chuckle out of it. We won't mention any names, but boy I can just picture her dh, sitting in their vehicle having a good laugh at what she did!
