Thumbs up Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.

Billed as a dark comedy/drama it certainly lives up to that. But I have to say it is the best movie I have seen in a very long time. Frances McDormand is at her very best as a grieving mother who is not happy with the unsolved murder of her daughter. Add a great performance by Woody Harrelson as the town Police chief she holds blame for the inaction. Great performance by Sam Rockwell as an out of control cop, this movie will have you laughing, crying, shaking your head, and cheering from beginning to end. It brings together dysfunction, tragedy, and turmoil in, and between three families in a fictitious Missouri small town. But also brings out forgiveness, and understanding.

Yes, it was a real sleeper to me too. Never saw previews, or even heard anything about it. Just looking through the movie listings because there weren't any movies we were I terested in we hadn't seen. Didn't take long to decide on this one as soon as I saw Francis McDormand, and Woody Harrelson were in it.

I think it really deserves to be top of the lists. Hard to explain why. You just have to see it. The dark drama of Winter's Bone with the Cohen Brothersish dark humor of Fargo.

The winning continues. 3 more wins for Three Billboards at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. Including their top award.
This movie was such a sleeper for me. I never saw any previews, TV talk, or advertising. It just popped up at the theatre one day when I was looking for a movie to see.

I'm going to have to catch this one. But with changes happening in my life, I'm not sure when it will happen...

From the people who make predictions on this sort of thing it is favored for best picture, and best actress.
