I'm going to ask a very confusing question here, I hope it makes at least a little sense.

Seems like there are two points of view, it's going to be a good year because people will vacation close to home, or it's going to be a bad year because of the economy.

My question. Is it possible both points of view could be a little bit correct? On the one hand you'll see long lines of cars and a lot of people in town and think it's a good year, yet on the other hand you'll have people there that came there because they didn't have a lot of money to spend to begin with so they are pinching pennies while there?

I really don't know. I was thinking one thing, and now I'm beginning to worry about another...so, I really don't know.

I'm hoping that people are saving, and planning on "after Memorial Day". The weather is still chilly, people are staying home because of bad weather. I just don't know.

I know someone that was planning a trip to Florida and now are leaning towards Branson because it's closer. I doubt they do a lot when they get there, but I think they are coming. See what I mean, it will up the numbers when total number of visitors for the year are released, but if they don't spend a lot when they get there they haven't helped the local businesses.

I know someone else, a relative that probably would have been in Branson last weekend if it hadn't been for the floods, instead they went to the Memphis-Tunica area and ended up dodging tornadoes.

They had to dodge flooding in Memphis/Tunica, too. Some of the casinos have closed due the rising level of the Mississippi River. More of the casinos are expected to close. Also, at Tunica Cutoff, homes are built on stilts. People are moving out because the Mississippi has risen so much.

I can tell you this...from what I've seen, the people that ARE here are spending money and it's being spent on impulse items. So, if that's any indication...

That's very possible. I know that in 2009 WDW was offering major discounts on their resorts to keep bookings up. They eventually found that their bookings remained solid, but profits were way down. People were heading down there, riding the rides, but spending much less in the shops and restaurants.

Okay, I know where the Taney County outlet is, where is the second location?

I love a good treasure hunt.
