Chesters

Does anyone know if chesters has officially put hot dogs on the menu. Last time I was there they were thinking about it.

Last time we were there we actually just stopped in to talk to Perry as we had eaten dinner at the house. Ted saw their hot dogs as their featured item for the day and we decided to split one. it was terrific.

They have then with several different toppings, all that are fresh ingredients. We told them to bring us the one they liked best. Can't remember the name but it was so good. All of the different varieties are ones we want to try.

My only problem with the hot dogs is that after trying their macaroni and cheese pesto the last time we ate there, it is going to be tough to get away from it. It was so good.

You are going to love their hot dogs.

I know what you mean, so much that is good, and the helpings are so big you can't try them all at one time. I plan on trying the Reuban next and order my daughter the hotdog cause she can't eat it all so I can try it.

Now that is what I call good planning.

I love their Reubens. As you say, so many good foods.................so little time.

We are heading over there this week to have some more of their macaroni and cheese pesto. That's a winner, also.

Enjoy

WOW

50 servings per hot dog.................now, that's a big hot dog.

Chester's isn't that big.........................but, I bet it is better.

Why does it not surprise me that you would come up with something like this............and, so quickly.

Wondering if they use Nathan's dogs at Chesters?

That's what we're having for dinner tonight - on the grill! I never thought I'd be excited about eating a hotdog, but I'm looking forward to it!

Do you know if one of their dogs is Chicago style? I love Chicago style dogs but haven't found a great one locally.

MN - down here Sonic's been running a "hot dog" special .. anyway they're trying different types - and are doing a Chicago style dog ... not the BEST I've had - but pretty good .. they at least have the poppy seed bun - which I can't seem to find here at all to make my own.. boohoo..

The Chicago style I grew up with was a little different than the traditional .. there was a place near my home (in Chicago) that used the steamed poppy seed bun - Dave Berg dogs .. relish/mustard/tomato/fresh cucumber (instead of the dill spear)/peppers (always got 'em on the side .. and of course the needed celery salt ... MAN they were SO GOOD ...

I make mine here .. skip the pepper all together .. and never can find the poppy seed buns .. and use basically any beef dog .. (I really like Hebrew National)

NOW you have me wanting hot dogs for supper!!

Sonic is doing the Premium Hot Dog promotion nationwide. There are 4 types of hot dogs: Chicago, All American, Chili Cheese, and the New York. Around here the hot dogs are $1.99. Have been eating a lot of Sonic lately as a mystery shopper.

I wish I could remember which hot dogs they have, but just can't.

I do remember the one that we ordered had Jeremy's homemade sauerkraut on it.

Will take notes next time we are there.

Those you grew up with sound great! I've had Chicago dogs with both the pickle spear and the fresh cucumber, and though I like them both I also prefer the cucumber. When I make them at home I would like to have sport peppers with them but have never been able to find them in the grocery. The yellow chili's are WAY too hot and the banana peppers too large and not spicy enough. Have you ever seen the little yellow sport peppers available anywhere?

Thanks for the info. I LOVE a good hot dog and wish more restaurants would carry them.

You should try Nathan's all Beef dogs - it's seriously the ONLY hotdog I eat.
