chow mein noodle cookies

I make these every year. Everyone loves them and they are so easy.

In double boiler, melt one 6 oz package of butterscotch chips and one 6 oz package of chocolate chips. **

pour over 1 package of chow mein noodles.

Stir until noodles are coated.

Drop cookies on cookie sheet

Sprinkle with colored cookie decorations

Chill.

**nuts may be added if desired but I never do.

Our family likes these too. Something different than the chocolate that we are usually bombarded with!!!!!!

these are a family favorite here as well - - sometimes we get crazy and add raisins or peanuts to it. At Easter time we make them with white chocolate instead of chocolate and plop some malted milk birdie eggs on top - - then they look like little bird's nests

I've also been making these for years...and I agree, these are a quick and easy cookie to make. They're a wonderful change from the usual!

Thanks for posting this GNEE!

Thanks for the reminder of some great cookie treats.
I also love the butterscotch rice krispies treat that is on the rice krispy box.

I am not much of a cook, so this probably seems like a silly question. But do you melt the butterscotch and chocolate chips together??

After rereading this thread, I realize that the recipe is a bit 'different' from the way I make them ------ I just use butterscotch chips, no chocolate added! But chocolate addition does sound good!
