Other places like these?

Looking to see if there are any other places that fit in the same mold as these 3 places:

Branson
Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge
Wisconsin Dells

I know they are not excatly the same kind of places but if youve been to 2 or 3 of them you kind of know what I mean. Ive loved all 3 of these places and just seeing if there is something else out there. Thanks.

I wouldn't say the Disney places are like Branson, Gatlinburg, or the Dells. Some would say it the other way. That those places aren't in the same class as the Disney parks. Also there are a dozen or so Six Flags parks through out the country. Most are in large city areas, not a part of a tourist area like the three mentioned in the OP.
When you think about it, where else are there theme parks, shows, shopping, go-karts, water parks, zip lines, etc that aren't near a major metropolitan area?

Still not like Branson, Pigeon Forge/ Glatlinburg, The Dells.
I could list dozens, or hundreds of things around the Lou, but it still wouldn't be the same type of tourist place as those.

Niagara Falls has the nature along with the manmade attractions, as well as a casino. To see it all you will need to visit the US and the Canadian side.

I haven't been to Myrtle Beach in a few years, but they pretty much have it all..Rides, music shows, and of course, the beach.

Yeah .. Myrtle Beach comes to mind - basically touristy area - no "theme park" amusement park - but a small one or two. We were there a couple years ago - gotta admit - I had had minor surgery the day before we left so I was kind of in a fog for the whole time .. .. I DO remember parts of it though... laugh .. lots of mini golf, that sort of thing .. great seafood too!

Haven't been to Niagra in probably 40 years .. but at least then the Canadian side was more "touristy" ..

Also - to some extent New Braunfels, TX is the same way - lots of "local" music now (especially in Gruene) .. Schlitterbahn the water park, little shops .. and if you want bigger amusement parks there's Six Flags Fiesta Texas and Seaworld in San Antonio .. ( which while a city has lots of shops, etc down at the Riverwalk .. AND the Alamo .. )

we were only at Manitou Springs Colorado for a short time, but it's kind've a neat place, small town right on the edge of Colorado Springs. the highway thru town is lined with restaurants and small shops.

there's the cog railway up Pikes Peak, Garden Of The God's park, Cliff Dwellings, a small amusement park, and a zoo all close by. then about an hour, maybe 90 minutes away is another place Canon City that is similiar, they have the Royal Gorge Bridge, an old western theme town, sightseeing train ride.

i'd like to go back sometime, just not crazy about the long drive across the plains to get there. another thing expect prices for motels and such to be higher there than in Branson.

You won't find go carts, water parks, mini golf, things like that, but West Yellowstone Mt is a 'tourist town'. Lots of shops and local restaurants, and then Yellowstone Park. But as Okie mentioned about the Colorado area, expect much higher rates at the hotels.......

When I was a kid our family would vacation in the Black Hills. Deadwood S.D. was very much like Branson/SDC is today. It was full of family attractions, cowboy stuff, covered wagons, shootouts in the street. All the good stuff. I loved it all the way til I came home from the Marines and still found it a great place to visit, spend money, meet girls, party and even pee off the the top of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson's head.
Then they legalized gambling.
Want to see a sorry excuse for an overpriced, vacant, bankrupt and sad place? Visit Deadwood now.
There really are no more places like Branson. Don't even try to compare Disney and Six Flags.
