Fun Things To Do In St. Louis!!!

I'm posting this for a friend who is going on a family vacation for the 1st time to St. Louis. There will be 2 adults and 2 kids (11 & 6).

What are your favorite things to do while there?

Any one know of some nice, clean, budget friendly and pet friendly motels?

Go up in the Arch/see the riverfront
Grant's Farm
St Louis Zoo
Art Museum
Museum of Transportation

so much to do. Grant's Farm is my favorite. free to get in but you have to pay to park. i think that's $11 per car now.

Good list, and I'll add:
Cards game, or for a good baseball game at much less cost see the River City Rascals minor league team. http://www.rivercityrascals.com/
Six Flags
Faust Park. Has the refurbished carousel from the historic old Forest Park Highlands amusement park.
You mentioned pet friendly, so Purina Farms might interest you. http://www.purina.com/purina-farms/purinafarms.aspx
Check the events calendar for the dates you are in town.
Suson Park. Good for a picnic, and visiting the animal farm.http://ww5.stlouisco.com/parks/suson.html
Here is a link to find other activities held by St. Louis County Parks. http://www.stlouisco.com/ParksandRecreation
Another great free St. Louis County park to visit for a picnic, and see wildlife is Lone Elk. http://ww5.stlouisco.com/parks/loneelk.html
Also the World Bird Sanctuary is right on the way into Lone Elk. http://www.worldbirdsanctuary.org/
Finally here is a link to many more things to choose from. http://www.explorestlouis.com/visitors/index.asp

Thanks for asking! I visit St Louis fairly regularly, and did when our kids were small, but there are several things on this list we've never done.

I think I feel a need to head to STL with the grandchildren for a weekend full of fun and adventures!

Awesome list...thanks! I have only been to St. Louis once and that was back when the Olympic Torch went through. We went up in the arch and went to Six Flags. I will pass this info onto my friend. :-)

another neat place although a little out of the way is Daniel Boone's Home & Booneville Village. If the kids love history this is a neat place. we always went on school field trips to this place.

I was going to add the City Museum, too! We haven't been yet, but it's on our list. I've checked it out online and it looks REALLY cool.

My son likes Six Flags, but, as amusement parks go, I feel it is just OK. We have always had fun there, but it's not as clean as SDC. You can usually find discounts, too.

Everything else I would have suggested has been mentioned already.

We have stuck with the chain hotels in St. Louis. Usually Hilton family or Marriott's. We have stayed in different areas and have had good experiences each time by doing this. No bad surprises. We have also stayed at a couple of the casino hotels. We will be staying downtown next weekend to attend an event at the Edward Jones Dome.

Check this link for pet friendly: http://www.pets-allowed-hotels.com/u...ouri/ST_LOUIS/

I think some Residence Inns allow pets, too.
