It does. It is $209 a night (3 bedroom, 2 bath), 11% tax, $85 cleaning fee, $300 damage deposit. Does this sound reasonable for mid-March?

Sounds like spring break pricing - I doubt anything will be cheap at that time.

We have always enjoyed Orange Beach - have stayed in condos (I think the condo we actually stayed it was washed away be a hurricaine) and we've stayed in a beach house, loved both - the condo was best though, because it was literally ON the beach.

Enjoy!

If you haven't already, be sure to check VRBO for rentals.

Yep, that is where we found it. It is still much cheaper than a Disney vacation and we would be dividing the cost of the condo between 2 couples. I still need to figure in gas, groceries, eating out 3-4 times, attractions....

An excellent website for condos is www.vrbo.com if you haven't discovered it yet.....

With the expert help of a friend we found a less expensive condo in Gulf Shores and in an even better location! $795 for 4 night including taxes, cleaning fee and parking passed. This is also a 3 bedroom condo. Just waiting to hear when dad's eye surgery is going to be and then hopefully we'll be booking! We are so excited to be trying something new. Since DD was born and especially after her autism diagnosed we have only vacationed in two places Disney World and Branson because they both work so well for her.

We are almost convinced we want to go to So Padre Island next Jan and Feb but it seems very pricey. Guess one has to rent travel trailer to camp out in to save money. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Mid March of course would be spring break...busy busy in all beach areas...

Busy I can handle, it is college spring break & drunk party atmosphere on the beach is what I don't want to be in the middle of. I know there will be spring breakers there but more families than college age groups. We have our condo reserved!

Our house is in the Crystal Beach area...I know the lady who owns a hotel at the end of our street only about 4 rooms with kitchenettes but she also has some houses and cottages. Old Pier Motel on Pompano Street.

Sea Oats is right on the beach...older condo and hotel rooms...near our street..

I have only been to Panama City when the Osmonds were playing at Ocean Opry...but stayed at the Holiday Inn on the water and also Ramada on the water..beautiful and it was mid winter..
+1 on the Destin area. Great place for the entire family. If you go to Destin make plans to rent a pontoon boat for a day and spend the day on Crab Island. Beautiful calm water area inside the bay.
