Best Restaurants to eat?

Hi! my family & I love Branson. But we always eat at the same places over & over. This year we are wanting to try different places. Looking for best places to eat...America, Mexican, Chinese, Italian, etc. Thanks for all your help in advance.

American: Dobyns Dining Room at College of the Ozarks.

Mexican: Cantina Laredo at Branson Landing.

Chinese: Nothing stands out in Branson; I like Leong's Asian Diner in Springfield.

Italian: I like Mr. Gilberti's Place in Hollister (near College of the Ozarks). Florentina's in Branson gets good reviews. The food at Mr. G's in downtown Branson is pretty good but the atmosphere is not. Frankly, you'd probably be as happy with the Olive Garden as anywhere else.

Where do you normally go, so we have a standard to improve upon?

I know. Many here will disagree with me, but in my opinion while Branson has plenty of "good eats", it doesn't have much in the category of memorable dining.

If you are in the mood to try something different, India Clay Oven gets excellent reviews. I've not had a chance to try it, but what they show at the website looks very good.

In my experience Indian food is uniquely spiced, but not that "hot" in comparison to some other cuisines.

We go to The Golden Corral (tried GCB but they were already closed the night we went in April). We have been to Montana Mikes, McFarlains, The Outback Oyster & Steak place, Cakes & Creams Diner. That is it off the top of my head.

Every time someone asks "where should we eat" I make sure to say Billy Gail's. It a few minutes off the strip and their breakfast is great. I don recommend that you get there as early as possible because they tend to get crowded quickly. They also serve lunch.

Here is one I haven't tried, but had good reviews here on 1b, and on tripadvisor had 31 reviews. 27 Excellent, and 4 Very Good.
Crazy Cajun Citchen on Indian Point Rd. past Silver Dollar City

You know... just past the new Chinese Theme Park...

Yea, I know all the usual suspects will say that is a racist comment or whatever. But it was STILL an amusing typo in the style of the final scene in "A Christmas Story".

As a first time visitor to Branson I have to say that these lists being put up are very helpful.

When we travel we want to eat at places we can't find at home so we ignore any national chains.

What better way to find a good place than to listen to what others have to say about a place?
