Best waterpark

We usually don't come to Branson during the summer because we don't like the heat and crowds, but we are going to give it a try this summer. We have a 5 year old and are looking for lodging with either a nice pool or waterpark. We prefer the waterpark, but after doing some research, none of the ones look too great. So...which of the waterparks/lodging is the best. I've look at Grand Country and it has mixed reviews. He's only 5 so it doesn't have to be anything spectacular. Other option is stay somewhere cheap and go to White Water one day.

Have stayed at Grand Country and Castle Rock with a 5 year old. He liked Castle Rock best. He is now 9 and we have been back to Castle Rock a few times. It has really gone downhill since the first few times we stayed there. I'm with NotJLB--and would suggest the Rec Plex. Very nice water park. We have enjoyed the pools at Comfort Inn--both Thousand Hills and the one on Gretna. Both indoor and very nice. Good option for getting out of the heat.

As far as "cheap" rooms...
Call K.D. at Classic Motor Inn, tell her you are a member of this forum.. She has discount room rates for us. There are a few of us on this site that stay there..
Nice, clean, decent breakfast, and just down the road on SOTH from the rec plex.. 417-334-6991
Just another Day..

Have you looked at Welk's Splashatorium?
So can you pay to just do the waterpark at Welk's? We will be staying at a different hotel.
