The more the merrier

There is always something to do in Eureka. The problem that most visitors face when coming to Eureka, is not having enough knowledge of the area ahead of time. There are lots of resources you can use to make the most of your short visit, such as the Chamber's Visitor Guide or a great website, www.eurekasprings.com. Here you can find info on lodging, attractions, food, and weekend events.

If you are into religion- you can spend a whole day at the Passion Play grounds, if you like shopping- there is the entire downtown historical distric, if you like Victorian homes- there are tour homes, if you like great entertainment- there are four wonderful shows to choose from, if you like music- there are music festivals such as Blues, Jazz, Folk, etc,.

There are always many activites going on throughout the year. I highly recocmend the Guided Downtown Trolly Tour, which takes you through the town telling wonderful history and facts, and also stops by the Cresant Hotel and lets you wonder through this haunted place.

The drive is a little over one hour from Branson to Eureka, and when you reach Eureka you will find that there is never a traffic jam on the steets--in fact, we don't even have one stoplight.

Definitely plan a trip!

In fact, once you get down there for the day, you might want to check it out for an extended trip. We do that about every 2-3 years. We make day trips out of Branson most of the time, but then there are some things that we want to do and we'll plan a long weekend or so and just go to Eureka.

Check out the website and you'll find all kinds of neat things to do.

I agree about the restaurants, but our favorite is DeVito's! They are totally the best italian that we've found in a long time. We used to go to their place north of Harrison before it burned down and we haven't found where they relocated to yet -- but will be looking next time we go down.
