12/15/18: 54° now. Water is clear-ish.

From Ozarkanglers.com

[QUOTE][The end of these seasons are marked by what we call "Table Rock turning over." This is when surface water on Table Rock cools and becomes colder than the water below it. Eventually a majority of this surface water cools down enough that it causes a flip --- the water on top sinks down, forcing water towards the bottom up to the surface. In time, sometimes it takes a week or more, all the water mixes and becomes uniform. The water at 130 feet deep at the dam where Taney gets its water improves to the point the U.S. Corps of Engineers doesn't have to add liquid oxygen to water passing through the turbines, and restrictions are lifted as to how much water can be run at one time.

We are at the end of that season. Table Rock's water has mixed to the point as of last Friday that the water coming into Taneycomo measures 3.45 parts per million, up from <1.p.p.m.. When this process starts, it continues until the water is fully mixed. As I type this report, I suspect that 3.45 reading has gone even further up and will continue for the next week or so./QUOTE]

Dissolved oxygen.
Quote:
Dissolved oxygen definition
Dissolved oxygen. Definition. noun. The amount of free oxygen dissolved in water, expressed in mg/L, parts per million (ppm), or in percent of saturation, i.e. where saturation pertains to the maximum amount of oxygen that can be dissolved theoretically in water at a particular altitude and temperature
This is the water coming into Taneycomo from the bottom of Table Rock. Meaning the oxygen rich surface water is mixing with the oxygen depleatec water at the bottom.

A number of red cedars blown over along Acacia Club road down the hill from Taney County rt 160. A number of limbs cracked off the Bradford Pear tree in our front yard. Electric was out for a few hours. Otherwise came through well.

Wind damage at D'Monaco Resort at the Long Creek Bridge, and some docks upside down, with boats still in them, under water.

I just got connected down here, and one of the first emails I opened was from another board user, and nearby lake neighbor, who reported the monsoon and cold temperatures that hit after we left.

So, I have been concerned . . . but I feel I left the docks in competent hands.

Speaking of driving, I guess I would need at least a 20-hour heads-up.

Just stopped going up: 29DEC2018 0800 913.52 (12OCT2018 1400 912.28)

Wow! The lake level had been 912-ish for two months. I didn't have to move docks any.

12OCT2018 1400 912.28

So, I turned the docks over to our winter tender, and wished that he would have nothing to do.

But, look what's happened in a week!!!!

03JAN2019 0600 915.13

I hate when that happens.

Just curious Not, but if you aren't using the dock anyway what difference does it make if the lake goes up three feet.

Our shoreline is pretty mild at this level (an old roadbed which was supposedly an old Bonnie & Clyde route) so even with the 3' rise, I only had to go about 15 rounds which pulled it in about 6'~8'.

Up around 919 it's gets steeper and takes a lot more watching to stay ahead of the ups & downs.

At 919, one I take care of is done, pulled up against the trees.

This year I have jockeyed the other one around so that the wheels could probably get up to 935', with a lot of effort.

2018 was a year for new cables and winches.
