I still can't believe they held a contest to name the new attraction and ended up picking "Branson Ferris Wheel" as the name. I mean, why even hold a competition if that's what you want to call it. People would have called it that anyways.

the thing I noticed when we were there last weekend it was closer to hwy 76 than I expected, for some reason, I guess from previous pictures I was thinking it would be more back towards where they have the parts stacked, but the dirt work is right off the hwy.

Could have put it smack dab in the middle of 76. Would have made a great round a bout kind of thing. As slow as traffic goes on 76.....you can get your ride in while waiting......no extra charge.

Smile The Biig Wheel

I noticed how close the preliminary work is to the strip. It is possible that the big wheel will extend over the strip. Then the riders can look down at the strip and wave to all the people down below. The wheel is so large that might just work using air space over 76.

Not sure what minimum clearance would have to be over a state highway. Wonder if those gondola cars on Ferris wheel has a see through floors?

You mean "Branson Ferris Wheel"doesn't get the old heart racing. Maybe they're trying to not scare the seniors

In 1982 I rode what was then the largest Ferris Wheel in North America at the World's Fair in Knoxville Tennessee. Having experienced that I have a couple of questions about this new giant Ferris Wheel in Branson:

1. If there are enough people in line will the owners fill up every car before they start doing complete turns of the Ferris Wheel? It takes quite a while to fill up a big one.

2. Will it be worth it? Cost vs amount of time allowed to experience this giant ride.

Lots of things to think about.

This has been a popular Ferris wheel for years. You realize this cam from Navy Pier in Chicago don't you?
